The ref in Eubank v Watson II literally dragged Watson to centre ring for the start of the last round. If he was so spaced he didn't know to walk out of his corner, how was he expected to defend himself.
Suleiman is a clown. He was on Mexican tv this week in some mock court case defending the decision to make Alvarez Hatton a WBC 154lb title fight. JM Marquez & Nacho Bernstein were prosecuting, Oscar was a witness. Needless to say he was found guilty - for all it's worth - but Marquez gave him a verbal dressing down. Why they felt he needed to defend the decision is beyond me, their decision to gift it to manny at 151lb for 3 months in order to steal some reflected glory from him has already shown how worthless a title it is.
As for the ref in the Donaire fight - you could argue that as champ Montiel shouldve been given the chance to recover, but let's face it that was an almighty punch. Donaire says it's the hardest he's ever hit anyone - and if you've ever seen the whack he gave Vic Darchinyan you'll know that's pretty bloody hard. Montiels jaw was fractured, but the ref wasn't to know that, but the way his legs went into a mini spasm on the floor shouldve been enough for the ref to wave it off there and then, poor reffing.
Agree with you totally on the Enzo fight D4, the ref letting him continue was a total disgrace - he literally couldve been killed. Speaking of enzo, you seen he's making a comeback at light heavy? He can't cut it as cruiser, I don't see how boiling himself down to 175 to compete in a more talented division will benefit his career at this stage. Easy for me to say, but he really should hang em up.

Meronen's performance in the Maccarinelli-Frenkel fight was an absolute disgrace. As a former professional himself I can't, no matter how hard I try, fathom out how he came to the coclusion that Maccarinelli was able to continue.
Even allowing for the times, the refereeing in the first Ike Williams-Beau Jack fight was shocking, with Jack taking a shed load of unnecessary punishment before the referee stepped in. Other obvious ones would be Ruby Goldstein in the final fight between Emile Griffith and Benny Paret, which we're all well-versed in, and I've never been a fan of Mickey Vann, I thought he handled the Lewis-Bruno stoppage poorly, with Bruno taking more shots than he should have done.
On the other side of the coin, Joey Curtis' stoppage of Mike Weaver against Michael Dokes is one of the worst (or best, depending on how you look at it) examples of a totally unwarranted stoppage. Weaver was in no great trouble, it was still only the first round and, as the WBA belt holder, it was a poor way for Weaver to lose the belt. I know that Curtis had not long before officiated a fight which resulted in a death, but even so, it was an awful piece of refereeing.

I thought it was a ridiculous decision to let Montiel continue. Champion or not surely his health and safety is more important than the belt. He was clearly gone. I was screaming at the screen for the fight to be stopped couldnt believe it.

The ref in Eubank Watson 11 should have given a standing 8 count whan Eubank was floored. If he had done that then THAT uppercut would not have landed as the bell would have gone. The rest is history.
