Make or break time for the group really, who would have thought that Armenia would be top after their second last match though??

Muckgeady is the only one I am disappointed with I still don't like Trap and think we are uinderacheiving with this bunch of players.

If I'm honest, I really dont have a clue! That 1-0 win at the very start now looks like a brilliant result.

I think its a case him taking us as far as he can. If he doesn't get us to Euro 2012 he should go and even if we do get there he should still go and we should bring in a more attacking minded coach.
That said if we do get there then it would have been 2 tornaments in 2 years if it was not for a certain French hand

I couldn't name you a player that is capped for them yet they are topping a group including yourselves and Russia. Strange.

Re: Ireland vs Andorra
In fairness I would bet my house (If I owned one) that that would not be the case by tonight. Their players are littered across that eastern european leagues and a few play in some of the bigger clubs. To my knowledge they have one young lad with no caps who plays for Ajax. Not sure on the name though.

Think people are discussing it in the chat box mate, live chat, quicker than a thread.
Also rather than complaining, wouldn't it better if you make more of an effort to have an active part in the football side. Post some articles, join in the debate, that's the only way it will grow.

We're in the play-offs if things stay as they are and we draw or beat Armenia which we should.

There is 1 thing about there are 9 groups and the top 8 second places after the results againat the bottom teams are discounted go into the play=off in a seeded draw.

Wasnt the best.
A point will be enough for play offs now.
But like I said before, Armenia will be tough.

Re: Ireland vs Andorra
The way Ireland have approached home games has been the huge issue. In fairness to Trap we are still unbeaten away under him, but the approach he adopts at home is baffling. I hope we can get over the line but wouldn't be confident in a play off..........................

Some tough teams in the play-offs.
Think we'll draw 1-1 aswell.

Re: Ireland vs Andorra
I was tempted to write 'playoffs it is then' but i don't think that would be too clever. Armenia have won their last 3 games in the group, scoring 11 in the process.
I don't really like commenting on what could have been, but Trapp really has a lot to answer for if we fail to qualify for the Euros. The group was there for the taking and if he had have been a little more positive in the games against Slovakia and Russia we could have won this group.
As it is, we're stuck (IF we get a result on tomorrow) in the lottery that is the play-offs. A lottery that we've had plenty of 'hard-luck' stories come from in recent years. Except, it isn't really 'hard-luck' if we could have avoided the play-offs in the first place is it?

Re: Ireland vs Andorra
Looking at the groups, if Portugal lose to Denmark, then they will be in the playoff's.
Wouldnt fancy playing them.
France may well be in the playoffs to, if they lose to Bosnia I think.

The runner-up in the Denmark/Portugal group is likely to go through as best 2nd placed team.
