Good luck Biltong, Bullsbok and any other Bok fans. Obviously I hope we win, but if not, I wish you well for the rest of the tournament. After some great rugby yesterday, let's hope it's another cracker.

With perfect conditions for running rugby, the star six back for oz, a chance in the scrums and lineouts and because the two more "running" sides winning last night I'm going back to an oz win.

Bryce Lawrence...oh no, completely missing the side entry from Australia that caused that. The refereeing was so good yesterday...please don't let us down.

Bad luck for Brussow.
Strange game, bit of an arm wrestle with Oz on top so far. They have been very lucky too.

Tough challenge by the BOK but the boys in canary yellow are looking pretty elusive at half time

A lot of stuff going on at the breakdown. Very lax officiating, but yet the game not really developing any flow. Confounding. It's erm, dire finals knock out rugby. Who would have thought the celts in the rain would be more free flowing?

Take it back. On the replay it was fine. Goes to show what a camera angle can do.

Cant say the abs will be shaking at moment.
Not that theyll be worrying about that yet.
Difficult match. SA dominating stats but thats not surprising.
Coopers gone. Id get barnes on.

Yep, a lot of mistakes from Cooper so far. He's a snake though. If he keeps doing random things, eventually one of them will look like inspired genius.

The broken nature of the match you would think would suit oz. But cooper is not running anything. SA deserve this so far. Good tackle cooper. Ha ha. Hopeless. Steyn dg.
Well done. Oz needs to be desperate.

Re: Quarter Final 3: Springboks v Wallabies
It's amazing that Australia are still in this game. Pocock is doing a phenomenal job at ruck time otherwise this game would have been over as a contest a while ago. I've got to say though that Bryce Lawrence has been a bit lax at the breakdown and has made it an anything goes contest.

Yes, it's called the "reverse Barnes manoeuvre", where you spot a succession of forward passes that didn't exist.

Re: Quarter Final 3: Springboks v Wallabies
already 3 qualified countries for the semis who finished 2nd in their pool - must be a 1st time in the RWC?
also provided NZ wins, we would have the same semi finalists that we had in 1987.

Pocock was outstanding... without him AUS are a pub side.
The last time I saw a team with so little possession & territory was Scot - Aus in 08. How did die bokke not win this match?

Got to feel for the boks. Some of those descisions by Lawerance were insane.
At least Ulster will get Ruan and Johan back sooner.

Re: Quarter Final 3: Springboks v Wallabies
A great ugly win from the Wallabies.
Listen to Horwill... he's got the spirit!
For a team which was completely dominated in all facets, set piece, territory & possession... I think the 1st half again was critical. The try out of nothing then an ongoing arm wrestle which SA seemed to be winning. Those few lucky breaks, chances which held off the Boks was desperate stuff. Don't know how they did it apart from sheer determination and guts defensively.

I hope Lawrence doesn't get any more games in this world cup. That game was a mess. South Africa will feel hard done by. They butchered a few chances themselves and were definitely on the wrong side of a few of the decisions.

Yeah I think thats an indication that, the AB's apart, the top 8 sides are so close together. It seems winning your pool isn't that much of an advantage anymore .

+1.
I feel for SA as Lawrence seemed imo to be doing his best for Oz. How he failed to penalise the Oz scrum i dont know. He pinged them off the park (rightly) against Ireland and i think has he responded to criticism he recieved by not pinging them today.
In saying that i think Pocock was due a couple more penalties than he got aswell. SA really should be blaming Roussouw imo. Idiotic penalty to give away when Oz didnt look in the game in the 2nd half. There was a hint of Ireland v Wales in the first half about it except SA didnt get the penalty chances that Ireland did.

Re: Quarter Final 3: Springboks v Wallabies
That was just brutal but I think South Africa needed to bring a bit more than just hard running. They needed someone to do the unexpected.
Having said that I don't understand how Australia were still in after that 3rd quarter, I thought SA had just battered them so much they would have nothing left.
Pocock was immense and I think if he had played against Ireland then that would have been a different result.
So is that all 3 quarter finals so far gone against the bookies.
