Billy Joe Saunders - How far can he go?

So, the question is, how far can Billy go?

I think at the moment, he could go very far, looks to have great ability, but probably needs to start facing better opposition. He fights again on the Wembley bill 5th Nov so will give us a chance to have another look!

His development does seem to have been really slow, as if Warren isn't all that bothered about him.

Despite impressing every time he has fought, albeit against poor opposition, he never seems to be given that step up. If it wasn't for the fact that Warren somehow fast-tracks people to the wbo title then I'd even go as far as to suggest leaving Warren.

He has looked good, but as you say against poor opponents, hes had a few injuries, needs a run of fights without being out the gym too long, step him up in quality and then we will see.

He's exciting to watch and has a great coach in Jmmy Tibbs, so lets hope he can go all the way.

If he keeps his head and dedicates himself fully i think he could be the best of the youngsters coming up.

its due to hand injuries not warren

He was the one of the olympians i felt at the time had the best chance to do something as a pro. Always looks good when i see him, but hand injuries aside, they need to up the quality of opposition so we can assess him a little better. Good potential though imo.

Billy Joe sounds like such a gay name.....

Opponents like the one he had last night offer him nothing and do nothing for him but pad his record. They need to start moving him through the ranks and testing him or he's going to go stale and slip up. Martin Murray will be vacating his British title soon when he fights Sturm. Fwank should be getting Saunders in the mix for that title.

his next fight is a step up still expected to win of course.
this was his first fight in a while so think it was just a tune up hes fighting in early november so looks liketheyre gonna start catching him back up fast

Hopefully because it makes no sense to hold him back the guy is very talented.

potentially although there is a long way to go of course and lots of questions to be answered but looks as though he could have the talent to be the man at MW though again got a lot of work to do before thats a serious statement.
