Billy Joe Saunders

Warren has announced today that BJS will not fight on the Andy Lee undercard, instead he will fight on May 9th on the same bill as Eubank jr. Warren then said they would have 'options' for a rematch between Eubank jr and BJS. Is Saunders ever going to get this world title shot!!

Eubank Jr has the WBA 'interim' belt, does that count as a title fight?

That belt is worse than Quiggs. Would be a sham title fight. Wait to see if/when both when a legitimate one before a rematch takes place mate

no sympathy if he doesn't he turned down a very winnable IBF vacant title shot. Looks like Warren is building a big rematch between Eubank/BJS and it looks as though this is where the money and priorities are for Saunders.

I just can't understand why Saunders / Warren passed up on the vacant IBF shot. Particularly as he made such a big hoo-hah about how he was giving up a shot at the vacant WBO belt, something he dearly wanted, purely to satisfy the fans and shut Eubank Jr up. Gets presented with arguably an even more winnable fight straight afterwards and then does the exact same thing.

Don't see why there's such a rush to get the Eubank rematch on. He beat him without any controversy. Competitive fight, relatively close, but he was appreciably the better man on the night and in Eubank's case he may still be growing and maturing as a fighter, making the idea of a second fight at a later point interesting. The pair of them are still only 25 - the rematch will still be there further down the road.

Fair enough that Saunders stepped aside and let Lee and Korobov square off for the WBO belt, because UK fight fans did want to see the Eubank Jr fight and it was refreshing to see two up and coming rivals actually fight rather than just talk about it, but passing on this IBF shot might come back to bite Saunders on his backside. I don't think he'll get too many opportunities to win a world title where he'd have been facing such a beatable opponent, probably with home advantage etc.

Not sure how big a rematch it'll be since both are hidden away on Boxnation....

I'm sure though any kind of title will suffice............However distant from the real thing..

I mean how many times have you heard SKY try to explain Quigg's status...

I'm sure he'll accept a title shot at some point. Everyone gets one these days - the fact he can pass on two in the knowledge there'll be another speaks volumes about the state of today.

Watched a few interviews with the kid and he seems more money orientated than interested in titles....

He's already conceded GGG is out of his league which kind of makes any other claim he may get to be a world champion at middle seem redundant....

Seems to lack ambition,...Nice kid though..
