The Tree of the 'E
First topic message reminder :
This is a group opinion on how the wwe views its roster (I have not included the Diva's), at the moment, in terms of importance to the company. It is based upon the following criteria:
Level 1 - Vital to the company and PPV headliners with proven drawing ability
Level 2 - Important to the top story lines but cannot main event successfully without it being alongside a Level 1 competitor
Level 3 - Strong upper card / mid carder with regular and logical TV time - appear at all / nearly all PPV's
Level 4 - Solid mid carder with regular TV time and story lines - appear at most PPV's
Level 5 - Mid carders who appear on TV most weeks - occasional PPV appearances
Level 6 - Superstars / lower card talent who may be put into story lines as enhancement talent - get their annual run at the Rumble
Level 7 - Superstars / lower card talent with no obvious story line at present, any TV time will be as a jobber
Based upon current standings, the tree looks like this: (NB:Italics shows inactivity at present).
Level 1: --- HHH --- Cena --- Undertaker --- Orton --- Punk ---
Level 2: --- Nash --- Del Rio --- Miz --- Henry --- Big Show ---
Level 3: --- Mysterio --- Christian --- R Truth --- Sheamus --- Rhodes ---Ziggler ---
Level 4: --- Ryder --- Kane --- Swagger ---
Level 5: --- Bourne --- Kingston --- Otunga --- Bryan --- Sin Cara's --- Barrett ---
Level 6: --- Clay --- Morrison --- Ryan --- Jackson --- Santino --- DiBiase --- Riley ---
Level 7: --- Slater --- Reks --- Tatsu --- Mahal --- Gabriel --- Rest of the Roster ---
Please feel free to comment on standings within the tree. More than 3 votes constitutes a change in standing.
I will be updated the tree based on comments after each PPV. The tree will be based upon the time leading to that PPV in question, and the PPV results itself. Therefore, you can comment at anytime and the opinions will be counted after the PPV in question, and any changes made.
Next Edit will be after: Survivor Series

Apparently Vince and others are high on the way he comes across in interviews and when speaking, he seems like a star. I'd agree with that, even on Ryder's youtube show, the way he speaks is excellent and it doesn't feel rehearsed or scripted which is a big plus for me.

If I get another AYE I will move Gabriel up. You do realise ED that he will be higher than Slater then? Just checking......

Anyone like the idea of moving Sheamus up? I think his please alongside Punk, Cena and HHH on Roaw means it is warranted.

Move Sheamus up? Yay or Nay?
Personal opinion is that Rhodes will do more in the future so maybe they should be both up a level

Re: The Tree of the 'E
No I genuinely believe that, while CM Punk has been dropping pipebombs the likes of Vickie Guerrero, Michael Cole and the computer that hasn't done anything for a while and now seem to have disappeared have been going about their business sweeping up the debris left about the roster.
Due to that they get level 8 and Slater drops to 9.
I'll be generous and stick Hornswoggle with him.

Given that Sheamus is viewed alongside Punk and Cena as faces I think he should be a l.2... also, with Cody in a feud with Randy Orton I wouldn't have a problem with him being at l.2 either.

I figure, if we can get Gabriel up a step now - it gives me more leverage next month to get Slater up when he's back from his drugs leave.
So yes.

Re: The Tree of the 'E
I would also probably have Kane level with the Big Show in there and maybe D. Bryan up to 4 as well because the MITB briefcase means that there is the chance that he could be involved in a good storyline in the coming months.

Not sure I agree with that. Big Show has a feud with Henry going on that deserves his higher place. D Bryan, even holding the case, does occasionly get jobbed out. In the future, I agree, I see him going higher. But as there is no notion anything is in the pipeline for him, so I would keep him where he is.
Of course, if others agree with you Josh I will edit the levels.

Re: The Tree of the 'E
Can we have a decision about Gabriel/Slater........
Go up to their own level....or to level 6.....or leave them where they are? I see no reason to place one higher than the other at this moment in time, so any moving will be a joint thing, unless others disagree.
I am going home. I will check this later

I can see what you mean, but it does seem to be held that Kane will be next to face mark Henry in a similar fashion to the Big Show's return...

Re: The Tree of the 'E
I would say leave Gabriel and Slater as they are. Neither have a storyline and therefore both are fairly pointless at the moment. The only way I could see Gabriel being moved up would be if Evan Bourne's injury is serious and therefore Kofi has to find a replacement, could see it being Justin in a tag team like that.

Re: The Tree of the 'E
I would say move them up to a group of their own, above group 7.
I don't think its an accurate valuation, but it'll have to do.
Go on Twist. The people have spoken - pull the trigger. We're spending too much time discussing the trivial end of the spectrum. Let's just move them up and move on to the business end.

Given the way Del Rio is portrayed as champion, he might as well be level 6 Why in gods name wasnt he allowed to go over Big Show on SD??? The way WWE portray their heel champions is pathetic (bar Mark Henry & Rhodes)

Based upon the result, I might be inclined to move him down if he loses heavily. He needs to be shown that he is an equal to Orton. Also im expecting (but hoping there won't be) a clay run in. Which means, if it results in a del Rio win, I will move clay up.

Re: The Tree of the 'E
Sorry ED, I am going to keep them where they are at the moment. Remember this isn't about ability, but where the 'E see's them on the pecking order.
PLEASE DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE VENEGENCE RESULTS
1. Because Rhodes needed distractions from his "baggers" and then STILL didn't win, maybe he should be moved down?
2. Sheamus beat Christian, comfirming his higher level. Is this another reason for moving Rhodes down alongside Christian?
3. Should R-Truth be moved a level higher after the tagteam win? Especially as he and the Miz are getting a lot of air time and were the main reason for Del Rio's win.
4. Should Nash be placed on the tree now, or do you think he will go soon enough? If yes, where should he go? I would be inclined to place him on Level 3.
Thoughts on the above? Please feel free to make any other suggestions on the movers and shakers after the Vengence PPV.

Re: The Tree of the 'E
BELOW CONTAINS 24/10/11 RAW SPOILERS
Based upon the RAW results:
1. Should Nash be placed on the tree?
2. Ziggler had a match with Santino...fall from grace?
3. Ryan seems to now be involved in a feud with Zig-Swag. Will he get more air time in the future?
4. Barrett beat Morrison in a nothing match. Start of a push?
5. Rhodes lost, and I think he needs to be on the same level as Christian.
So should the following be moved:
Rhodes down to Level 3
Nash to be placed on Level 3
Then for the future....
Barrett and Ryan as possible Level 5's
Thoughts??????

Ziggler got 2 matches at the ppv and needed a squash match IMO- it's tiring work, also brings Ryan into the story.

I definitely don't feel Ziggler fell from grace facing Santino, you can't just start a new feud for no reason, that was an arc which should probably lead to a US Title Match with Ryan

Either that, or the stage is set for Swagger and Ziggler to fall out, maybe with Ryan involved and for Ziggler to lose the US belt.
Simply because he is on his way to better things.

I definitely think Swag and Zag will end up in a feud, Ryan by the process of elimination is the only face left on the roster who could face Ziggler, I also think he'll be the guy that turns face when he faces Swagger

So that all being true, I expect an angle that goes on for a good many ppv's. What happens after, and who he feuds with after I am not sure. Could you see a Ziggler (face) v Rhodes series......the so called pretty boy against the former so called pretty boy
Regardless of whether wwe have a money in the bank match at WM or at its own ppv like this year, I expect Ziggler to be the next winner.

EDIT:
Based upon Nash's announcement that he is now part of the RAW roster, I have placed him at Level 2. I have also moved Barrett and Ryder up a level. Did think about moving Del Rio down after Punk's burial of him, but left it for now. Next update will be after Survivor Series most probably.

Agreed. The reasoning for that originally that I think when Awesome Truth disband, R-Truth will be dropped like a hot potato. As it is now, as you say, he should be up a level.
I don't want to make too many changes before Survivor Series otherwise this will go up and down each week (whose to say Del Rio next week might actually look strong against Punk.....I mean I was seriously thinking about dropping him a level this week).
I just wanted to add Nash as he is now a confirmed part of the roster. And to acknowledge Ryders RAW main eventing, and the mini push Barrett is getting at the moment. I have also updated the "inactives" in Italics.
