RFU,England RWC reviews a witch hunt?
Having read there are now three seperate reviews of the RWC events, and will presumeably reporting to a dysfunctional RFU.
One than now has no credibility. The one by Fran Cotton seems to have a hidden agenda to establish Sir Clive Woodward as
a sort of "Kingmaker".Both in a new RFU and in the Manager/Coaches of the England side, making Martin Johnson and his team
scapegoat,For All Englands RWC and other failures,Rob Andrew would probably also be axed, certainly the RFU needs sorting
out. Before decisions are made with the Coaching staff to me it seems they are doing a white wash, dumping existing management
and starting again.Just as it seem we have since 2004,with Robinson and Ashton.IF we go down that road it seems that 2015
will just be another disappointment.
It took the All Blacks under Graham Henry nearly 8 years ,despite an 85% win record to win a RWC at Home,England given continuity
now with Players?coaches COULD do it with Home advantage 2015[in my opinion].BUT starting from scratch again ?thoughts anyone?

Re: RFU,England RWC reviews a witch hunt?
If, as many have suggested, the problem with Johnson is that he lacks vision and a strategic view of how to select and shape a team, then 4 more years of that won't produce much better results. Henry had most of the jigsaw pieces in place prior to being backed after his first failure, and I would argue the same was pretty much true for Woodward. There seem to be more things amiss for Johnson.
But yes, the upper levels of the RFU must be sorted out before any manager and coach changes are decided upon.
Cotton knows Woodward won't come back to the RFU until after the Olympics, and probably not even then.

What i would like to know is why does Rob Andrew seem yo be bullit proof.
Ever since he started at the RFU he seems almost untouchable and he seems to do the hiring and firing.
If Martin Johnson is (manager) and not( head coach) then surley he is not responsable for what happend in NZ. Or is did he start off as a manager and drifted into the head coach job by accident? What does Rob Andrew actualy do does any one know?
I realy do think that sacking Martin Johnson and bringing in some one new will niot help England but rather inder the England squad in the run up to 2015 RWC.

Well he was moved to Logistics Director (or some similar title) but seems to have been moved back to Performance Director. What does he actually do, who knows - but as I will be seeing one of his younger brothers next month perhaps I will ask him
Squeeky does deserves some praise for the work he has done - most notably getting an agreement between the clubs and RFU that kept both sides happy enough to prevent all out civil war. He was also involved in aiding clubs develop their academies. Under his remit as Performance Director has been the performance of all representative teams which excluding the full mens XV have gone pretty well (Saxons, U20s, U18s, Sevens, and Women have all had some good success).
HOWEVER the main foucs should be the England team - where progress has been stop, start and at times reverse.

It's the review that just keeps on giving? RPA refuses to allow players to be reviewed Something needs to be done quickly to sort out this unholy mess - where's Portnoy, he's got laods of time on his hands, sending off letters to ITV re RWC coverage can be put on the backburner for a while!!

They need a review of the whole review process.

On the thread:
"In 2011 England..."
Some bright spark said
"...conducted a review."
Absolute comic genius.
