First topic message reminder :

Have just made my first post on here, so thought that maybe it would be polite to introduce myself too!

I'm a lady golfer, based in Wiltshire. After years of driving my son around to Junior tournaments, I dabbled with lessons on and off for a couple of years, then began playing regularly around two and half years ago. Currently play off 28 - down from 34 at the start of the year - so am not destined for great things, but I love the game. Very Happy

Yes - JJ is still the head pro. Chris Wood sometimes comes over to use the short game practice area, so I guess it must be good. Unfortunately I do not spend enought time on it myself! Whistle

JAS - that would have been the red 9. The newest 9 - Orange - is a links type set up, so a bit different to the other 27.

Mary I knew John as a young assistant pro.
He worked very hard and deserves all his success, good guy.

I considered joining Cumberwell Park earlier in the year when I changed clubs, but opted for The Players in the end. CP is a nice course Mary.

That would be a tough choice if they were equidistant Faldo. I really liked Cumberwell when I played it (played all 3 9s in a day) and to be honest thought I would have returned by now. I've great reviews about the short game area and where my game is at the moment I'd use it a lot. I do like the Players though and it is a lot easier to get to from the M4, havent played the new course though.

Was there much difference in price?

Not much difference in price JAS, but The Players dropped the joing fee and a whole bunch of us moved over from Tracy Park. Glad I made the move even though I have struggled with my h/cap. There are comps most weekends and the choice of a quicker 18 if you want to play the Strahanan. There is reasonable practice facilities and the condition of the main course has been exceptional this year.

He has some good Assistant Pros up there too - they all seem to keep busy with lessons. John does stuff with England boys and various County groups - he's still working very hard!

Faldofan1 - I haven't ventured to The Players yet, as I think it might be a bit tough for a shorter hitter. Erm
