Who will be Englands Center Halves at the Euros ? Empty Who will be Englands Center Halves at the Euros ?

With all the up roar over John Terry's alleged racist comments and with Rio Ferdinand not an automatic choice will they be picked for the European Championships and if not who will Englands Center Backs be at the Euros ?

I do think England should be looking to the future .

I would go for Gary Cahill and either Phil Jagielka or if he is playing regular at centerhalf for Man Utd Phil Jones .

As an outsider looking in I would go with Cahil and one of Smalling or Jones depending which one is playing more or at all, Jagielka would be my 3rd choice. after them. I do think though that Capello will go with Ferdinand/Terry and one of the younger Center-backs, rightly or wrongly.

I'd like to see a whole fresh shake up. Cahill and Jones would be a good start.

I don't think Capello has any thought or care for the future of the England football team so I'd expect all the same old names to board the plane.

I think if they do they will all be boarding the plane home early and empty handed .

There is a decision to be made by both Fergurson/AVB and Capello.

It is an important one too, because it is evident that both Ferdinand and Terry are both very much past their best.

Hansen eluded to it on MOTD, in saying that 5 years ago you could have put anyone alongside JT, now he needs someone good next to him.

I would partly agree with that, but IMO, Terry has been seriously overrated because he has had Carvahlo next to him for so long; he has always been slow and it has always taken him 3 weeks to turn round, and that effort on Saturday has kept me giggling all weekend.

Question is though, have AVB/Fergurson and Capello got the Cahunas to drop them both?

Fergurson has already dropped rio, does anyone think AVb will drop JT? For me a pairing of Luiz and Alex/Ivanovic is teh way for Chelsea to go!

For me I would like to see Phil Jones and Gary Cahill. Take Chris Smalling and (if fit) Michael Dawson. Leave Rio and John Terry at home.

i dont want terry to go, but i think capello overrates him and has him as skipepr.

Cahill and Jones would be my choice, but i think terry will go.

AVB will never drop Terry for any longer than a couple of games no matter what form he is in. Terry is the resident Chelsea back stabber and would soon lobby for AVB's dismissal if he was to lose his place on a regular basis. The same probably goes for Lampard.

I agree with you on Carvalho JD. He was immense for Chelsea and sorely missed.

I think there won't be any major changes from now until Euro 2012, and that should be a good thing. We only have friendlies from now until the summer and they should be used to build and strengthen the side we used in the qualifiers.

It's unrealistic to expect Capello to drop John Terry who he has consistently picked and recently named captain.

Anybody screaming for overhauls of the squad etc. should do it after Capello is gone, it's just not going to happen from now until the summer.

Terry's leadership is key, no way he will be dropped.
Rio is a joke these days, he doesn't have a lot left in him, could be injured for the euros, but if hes fit I'm sure he'll travel with the squad, although I can't see him starting in the team.
For me Phil Jones has a great year ahead of him, so in my opinion I think Capello rightly will pick Jones for the team.
There you have it
John Terry and Phil Jones, not that its going to change our chances in the tournament!

Terry will certainly be there, Lescott gave another good account of himself tonight, Jagielka is always around the squad and Jones will only get better. They are the four centre backs I'd be inclined to go with.

Ranieri
Mourinho
Solari
Hiddink
Capello
AVB

so many top managers have been guilty of over-ratung John Terry Wink

never did buy into the "Carvalho made Terry look good" argument. Terry has looked very good alongside plenty of other CBs. While it's a bit early to be looking into the Euro squad, at the moment I'd take Jagielka and Lescott alongside him, backed up by either Cahill or Jones.
