Re: OWGR - Week #44
Definitely a career high for BVP, probably way exceeding his wildest dreams!
Given the quality of the fields the next three weeks, there'll be significant changes - those in the owgr 40's who haven't played in a while and will have their feet up in November - Martin Laird if he's not in China, Zach Johnson, even Ben Crane, Ryan Moore will really start to lose position.

Re: OWGR - Week #44
Crane and Johnson the 2 bible thumpers, really cannot take to either wonder why! Shame because I do rate Zach as a player. Then there's Laird again not a fan as most know (Mac will now come try to force his opinion on why I should like Laird) in all honesty though out of those 3 the only one I rate as a top 50 player is the Zacher!
Ryan moore not seen much of hin this year has it been an indifferent season or his he just not getting the coverage, I loke the guy, way he plays and dresses and the facy he comes across as the type of guy that just says "this is me and no more"
Great to see El Nino moving back up into top 20 hope he puts his foot down and motors back into top 10. Also well done Bo don't know why but quite like the fella any ideas why he hasn't won more!

Great to see the mechanic, er, motoring back up the rankings, was getting perilously close to the 50 bubble but should be safe for Augusta now.
Laird needs to get off his arse and start playing, not bothering to make the trip to China when exempt, no idea when his next appearance is scheduled to be.

Re: OWGR - Week #44
Mav,
I think your mate Bo comes up short a lot because he putts under pressure like the hole is the size of a thimble. (And I know where you prefer things the size of thimbles to be.) Great striker of the ball, lots of top twenties, only one Official win.
Don't understand Laird either - he played in Asia last year and that form helped him start 2011 in fine form. Perhaps he's enjoying a belated honeymoon and has a Ryder Cup-centric 2012 planned? But the HSBC is just too big for anyone in his position to miss.

Re: OWGR - Week #44
Great week indeed for the two star Spaniards.
Pitty if Sergio is not playing the HSBC this week. It's all academic, but if he would've played and won that as well, he could've jumped back into the top 10 (#9 max)...

Yeah im disappointed hes not playing but last 2 weeks probably took a lot of him more mentally than anything. He looked quite emotional when he won yesterday.

Hi John,
Not an official event on any Tour and the field fails to conform to owgr criteria, so the whole thing is little more than a glorified skins game. But kudos to Rory for winning it.

Re: OWGR - Week #44
Rory within touching distance of Westwood and carrying the better form into WGE this week. A good finish relative to Westwood and he will become 2nd for the first time.
Woods down to 56th and not in the WGE so will drop further. How low will he go until he starts to play a fuller schedule and starts to get some decent finishes.

Scottie, I posted a few weeks ago some projections for Tiger, and I think I said he should drop somewhere in the #56-61 bracket by the time he'll be playing next time. I think that still holds pretty well considering that he's now #56 and he'll be playing next week at the Ausie Open... There is the chance that he could drop even further after this week, of course, if the planets are aligning the wrong way for him. One thing looks certain, he will drop at least one place to #57 behind Mark Wilson, no matter what happens...
As for Rory moving to #2 after HSBC, just to give an example, he needs something like a top 15 finish with Lee not scoring, in other words a difference of ~7-8 points between them, in Rory's favour, of course...

Re: OWGR - Week #44
Should be two high-earners next week with Singapore and the Aussie Open.
Can't find an updated list of commitments for Sydney . . . . .

Re: OWGR - Week #44
There it is, it's final and quite fresh. Between that and Singapore you probably should find most of the PresCup teams members...

I'll have a check later on the estimated owgr points, but the proper count should be done next week...

Re: OWGR - Week #44
Great! Thanks!!
Sponsored by The Emirates? Where's Poulter??
Yes, looks like that takes care of just about everyone, except Steve Stricker. I'll draw the conclusion from his absence that Keegan Bradley will be getting a call from Freddie - while he's in Singapore with Phil, Webbo and Furyk.
