Team of Players With 100+ caps - is it possible? Empty Team of Players With 100+ caps - is it possible?

Thought I'd have a look at the 100+ cap club and see if it was possible to make a team. Oh yes - and it's some team too (the numbers do NOT include Lions caps)

1. Jason Leonard (England) 114 caps
2. John Smit (South Africa) 111 caps
3. John Hayes (Ireland) 105 caps
4. Nathan Sharpe (Australia) 100 caps
5. Victor Matfield (South Africa) 110 caps
6. George Smith (Australia) 110 caps
7. Richie McCaw (New Zealand) 103 caps
8. Fabien Pelous (France) 118 caps
9. George Gregan (Australia) 139 caps
10. Ronan O'Gara (Ireland) 118 caps
11. Gareth Thomas (Wales) 100 caps
12. Philippe Sella (France) 111 caps
13. Brian O'Driscoll (Ireland) 123 caps
14. David Campese (Australia) 101 caps
15. Percy Montgomery (South Africa) 101 caps

The bench would not be so easy - the nearest prop back up is Andrea LoCicero at 91 caps, and hooker would be Rafael Ibanez at 98. The next lock in line would be a choice of 2 from Gareth Llewellyn & Malcolm O'Kelly both on 92. Back row on the bench is Martin Williams at 99, then for scrum half there is Alessandro Troncon with 101 caps. Fly-half gives us a couple of potentials with Stephen Jones on 104, and Stephen Larkham on 102. The utility back option on the bench could go to Chris Paterson (109), but my preferred choice is Mils Muliaina on 100.

Pelous has combined his career as both a lock and also at No.8 (he's had 15 caps there not counting caps as a replacement) so that's why I selected him there, otherwise we wouldn't have had a full team Very Happy Amazingly, Pelous is still younger than Simon Shaw! So - a total of 1674 caps. Experience counts! thumbsup

I'd have Larkham at 10 over ROG, but great team nonetheless.
