Adverts again
I asked a question on another thread but the whole thread seems to have vanished into the ether
The announcement about adverts appears to be locked to new posts so I thought I'd ask here
Detailed finances of the board are no business of the general membership but a big deal was made of the 4 options when forumotion decided to stick the boot in. Option 3 was chosen (pay forumotion to remove their ads but instead have custom ads to pay for the default ad removal)
My question was "Are the custom ads paying their way to cover the cost of forumotion advert removal?"

Re: Adverts again
They will pay for the cost, if clicked on. As I mentioned today, some ads will only pay if they are clicked on.

Re: Adverts again
So what you are saying is that they aren't currently paying their way because not enough people are clicking through?

Re: Adverts again
Not if the forumotion costs continue to increase at their current rate.
Remember we are getting much busier now.

Re: Adverts again
That is precisely why I asked the question. What is being done about it?
The other reason I asked is that when I was an admin I came up with an idea that would generate funds with little or no visual impact on users but which with a little promotion would generate far more income than anything else so far.
The first time I suggested it, it was ignored. When I brought it up again one of the founders (can't remember which one, maybe Hero) told me that it had been overlooked the first time, but that it would be pursued. It still hasn't been implemented and I wondered why

Its very kind of you to bring t up again.
It is something we looked into at the time and may action in the future.
As the original question has now been answered, I will lock the thread.
