was watching my HIAC box set earlier , and was watching specifically HHH vs Nash and HHH vs HBK at Bad Blood 03 and 04 , and was wondering what your favourite HIAC match was? i know most of you will say Taker/Mankind KOTR 98

Shawn and Taker really set the standard at Badd Blood in 97 along with the HHH/Cactus Jack match at No Way Out 2000 I feel they're the best

Re: Hell In A Cell
Taker vs Foley was a terrible match. One of the best spectacles ever though, but was a 2 spot match.
My favourite is probably HBK vs HHH. Honorable mention to Batista vs HHH aswell. Barbed wire steel chair. All you need really.

Re: Hell In A Cell
Taker vs Mankind is more of a testament to the guts of Mick Foley rather than a great match.
My favourite would probably be HBK vs Undertaker for the mixture of ability and spots. Honorable mention to Nash vs HHH though, which IMO, was a much better match than it could have been.

Re: Hell In A Cell
Taker vs Mankind is a great match, not technically great but for the spots and JRs reaction its a classic.
Taker Lesnar was good, I enjoyed Orton and Takers bloodbath match a few years ago, one of the last brutal cell matches. Only decent one lately was TLC in a Cell at Summerslam.
Worst ever Hell in a Cell is Punk Taker purely because it was so short.

Agree with Gaffer on Triple H vs Cactus Jack. That was brilliant - and Triple H was at his ruthless best.

Oh I forgot about Edge vs Taker, which I thought was a pretty good match.

Taker vs Bossman was brilliant for bad taste alone

HHH vs Cactus Jack for me, although Lesnar vs The Undertaker was good in it's own way even if I didn't appreciate it at the time.
My memory of HHH vs Nash is a clusterf**k of weapons inside a cage. Not a good match by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Hell In A Cell
Foley-Taker.
Before I start, I acknowledge that HBK-Taker is the superior match and that others are more thematically and structurally better, but...
...The match at King of the Ring 98 got over the Hell in a Cell match as a match as truly dangerous as it was hyped to be.
There have been so many HiaC matches since, but its the imagery of Foley being destroyed by a remorseless Undertaker that sticks in the mind.
But again HBK-Taker is the better match and I don't want to take anything away from it.

Re: Hell In A Cell
It's a great DVD. Anyone on here that hasn't got it, should definitely buy it. I like how it has got the promos for each of the matches before they start.
My favourites are:
5) Nash - HHH. People may say it is not a good match, but 2003 was the year when I watched every single week and had all the PPV's on DVD. It was the first HiaC I had seen live so it means something special to me.
4) 6 man HiaC. Great match just for the competitors. The moment where The Rock and Austin stood off towards the end got a great reaction because they had been kept apart for so long.
3) HHH - Cactus Jack. The first PPV I saw live was Royal Rumble 2000 which featured the brutal and epic Street Fight. I went round to a friends house to watch No Way Out after school one day and was absolutely begging for Foley to win. Obviously, he didn't. I thought at the time he was actually going to retire. Which I was gutted about as a 10 year old boy.
2) Mankind - Taker. Yes it's only famous for the 2 spots, but the spots were so legendary and unexpected that it defined HiaC as the brutal, career ending stipulation that it was meant to be.
1) Lesnar - Taker. I have said many times that Brock Lesnar is one of my all time faves, this match showed why. Absolutely brutal. The cut Taker suffered was, to me at the time, horrifying. I still cringe today when I see it. Plus, my favourite part of the match is the unreal feat of strength shown by Lesnar at the end to throw Taker on his shoulders as if he were a 200 pound Cruiserweight and then deliver the F-5.
