Match 1 - Kings to win. Tait and Dernbach would be a handful, but I found the choice to go with 2 spinners bowling their full allocation a strange one on this pitch, particularly with one of them being a part timer in Yuvraj. The Kings bowling attack gets more out of the wicket with a more sustained pace attack.
Match 2 - My match.
Match 3 - RCB to win. Deccans second string put up a surprisingly good fight as they try to establish themselves in the first team, but in the end the quality of the RCB batting lineup shows through.
Match 4 - KKR to win. I think their bowling attack really suits these conditions. Reverse for Lee, swing for Khan, and spin for Ojha and Murali. They'd be a handful, and they sneak a close one, for me.
Match 5 - MI to win. I don't like the look of the RR bowling attack, and think it'd be pretty ineffective against such batsmen. A resounding win after MI pile up the runs and bowl RR out about 30 runs short.

Re: Week 8 - Voting Page
Finally a win
My last win was ages ago in the 2nd week.
Still dont think I have done enough for a semis berth.

Re: Week 8 - Voting Page
So the results look like roughly, I think:
Kings draw with Pune
CSK beat DD
RCB beat DC
KKR beat Kochi
MI beat RR
So that leaves the table with CSK well through then Delhi (10 pts), Mumbai (10 pts), Pune (9 pts) and Kings (9 pts). It is close! I am genuinely nervous, haha! This is all of the top of my head, so it could be completely wrong.

Re: Week 8 - Voting Page
wonderful come-back from me, I think I lost the first four votes, but dramatically came back to snatch a tie
Sorry about tardiness, have been a bit busy these last couple of days (with two tutorials and a test to set), should get results in this evening or at worst tomorrow afternoon.

Did you lose the first 4 votes MFC? I hadn't noticed at all. And I am in no way bitter about your awesome comeback. Not in the slightest. I didn't think I had the two points sewn up, haha.

Re: Week 8 - Voting Page
good grief it is looking close for those last three semi spots. Delhi will go through if they avoid defeat I think, Mumbai have Chennai so they could actually be in the most precarious position.

Only just saw your post mate, well the 'results' with just MFC to vote are:
Match 1 - Draw
Match 2 - CSK 5 DD 2
Match 3 - DC 0 RCB 7
Match 4 - KKR 5 KT 2
Match 5 - MI 6 RR 1
So shall I update the table now?
And its fine CF, I'll beat CSK...

Re: Week 8 - Voting Page
Match 2: CSK win. CSK batting first make an excellent total, as their subcontinent star pair of Dhoni and Raina blast away, and a late cameo from Afridi gets them to 180. In reply DD make a decent start, stutter a bit when the spinners come on, but Sehwag takes over, smashing a magnificent 80-odd and getting them close, but unfortunately gets out in the penultimate over, and the runs are beyond the remaining batsmen as Delhi fall 5 short.
Match 3: RCB win. DC's top order looks a bit weak, and they lost a few early wickets. Hussey and De Bruyn lead a recovery of sorts, but they end up below par. In reply, Hafeez gets RCB off to a flier, so they're always ahead of the rate, and despite a fine spell from Borthwick De Villiers guides the tail home.
Match 4: Kochi win. The early green on the pitch allows Akhtar and Singh to claim some early wickets. Morgan and Kallis recover well, but once they're separated KKR collapse, ending up on a below par 140. McCullum makes a strong start, getting ahead of the rate, and Jayawardene and Laxman build the crucial stand to see Kochi home.
Match 5: RR win. I think the track favours RR, they have some really intelligent bowlers in Botha, Watson and of course the master Warne, who would relish the challenge here. Harbajan and Panesar are more sort of "groove" bowlers and as such would fare less well I think. Both sides batting has good quality subcontinent players who would enjoy the condition, but for me RR's bowling attack means they just nick this one.
