Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
drat was hoping to win this toss, think it could be key... Cf you're batting first anyway, so the toss wasn't important. The toss could give RCB the edge I think, but need to consider for a bit.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
I shall get the ball rolling then-
Game 1- Deccan win- Deccan have picked the right side for the conditions and look overall better. Deccan to see off Bresnan with the new ball with Dilshan and then Hussey at the end climbing Deccan up to 150. KKR to struggle against Tahir and then Steyn and Mithun near the end. A late fightback by Bresnan and Harris almost secures the game but then fall short.
Game 3- Dehli win - Dehli's bowlers suit the conditions far more with Morkel and Aaron doing damage doing damage to Kings XI's top order. The run-rates slow but thanks to RTD they climb to 130. Kings XI's bowlers can't cope with Dehli's top order. RTD again gives Kings XI a chance but a poor over from Clark costs and Dehli reach the target with 2 overs to spare.
Game 5- Mumbai win- Tightest game here. Malinga and Gul get the openers early and Pune never really recover until the 3 overs where Buttler and Matthews deal well against the finishing bowlers. Kumar gives Mumbai a great start getting Wright and Kanwar in the same over but Tendulkars grit and fight leads them to victory with Shah and Singh helping out with 20 a piece each.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Match 1 - I think Deccan would win this one, due to the weak bowling attack of Kolkata. Dilshan and Hussey would get some quick runs against the average Ishant in particular, despite some scary moments against Harris who would be dangerous with the new ball. The bowling from KKR in the middle overs doesn't seem very threatening, so I'd back Deccan to rack up a pretty big score, and then Steyn and Imran Tahir between them would take enough wickets/keep the run rate low enough to make sure that KKR never reached the total.
Match 2 - I think Rajasthan would just sneak this one, purely down to the fact that their bowlers are slightly more suited to these conditions. I would see Watson being especially effective on this pitch and taking something like 4-20, which would strangle the life out of the RCB innings. Likewise, I think Broad would be effective with the slower bouncers, but Rajasthan would just scrape home.
Match 3 - Delhi to win. Their bowling attack looks pretty frightening on this pitch and I see them blasting out Kings XI pretty cheaply. I think their openers would fall cheaply, being overly aggressive, but the likes of Warner and Taylor would see them through, with some late order hitting from Pathan.
Match 4 - no vote.
Match 5 - No tactics yet, so no vote.

Match 1: My match (come on the chargers)
Match 2:Rajasthan vs RCB: RCB win. RCB's batsman take advantage of a good batting pitch, and a weak rajasthan bowling attack, to get up to 180. RCB bat all the way down the order, and they have too much batting for Rajasthan. In the chase Rajasthan's good batting line up, but they get stuck behind the rate and eventually fall 20 runs short.
Match 3: Kings vs Delhi: Delhi win. Delhi bowling first on a green top, rip out the top order with Jimmy, Morne, and aaron, getting a couple of wickets each, kings rebuild but struggle and only get to 140...Delhi's openers come out, and play with no fear, and the chase is over in 15 overs delhi win...
Match 4: no tactics
Match 5: Mumbai vs Pune: Mumbai win, Mumbai's bowling attack one of the strongest in the completion, bowl pune out for 150, and Mumbai chase it down in 17 overs.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
I sense a 0-8 coming on . Surprised people think my top order would fold so easily, it's pretty strong IMO. Also Jimmy Anderson is pretty poor at T20s.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
I didn't think yours would fold MFC, just that it would struggle against Morkel and Aaron. A pitch suited for them, pace and bounce exactly what they would want.
Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
its all about conditions in that game, green top delhi bowling first, it would be tough for any side.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Come on liam and cf show some creativity. I.e. did Mumbai pick the right side for the conditions, did Chennai get there balance right etc

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Match- Can't really argue with Chennai's side may of had Jakati in ahead of Mahesh but that's it.
Match 5- Wouldn't of had Wright, Would of went with Nash or Vince instead. Possibly would of had Raut and Prior in there also. As Chennai's mainly right for the conditions.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Punjab win.Their batting line up is better suited to these conditions.Varun Aaron barely played for Delhi last season and India picked the likes of Vinay Kumar and RP Singh ahead of him this summer and they must have seen more of him than us.So what if he has pace?So does Saj Mahmood and look how good he has been.Jimmy and Morkel should be dangerous for the first couple of overs but I expect them to be seen off by the openers. After that,Kings XI should do well in the middle overs.KP,Ganguly,Umar Akmal and RTD all are very good against the moving ball as well as spin.I dont think Aaron will trouble them.Delhi dont have a good death bowler which will cost them badly against the likes of Akmal and RTD in the slog overs as Punjab get to 150.Sehwag cant play on seaming pitches and Warner is also a flat track bully.Zak would get rid of them both before Tamim and Taylor launch a fightback to get them back in the hunt but some exceptional death bowling by Zak gives a thrilling 1 run victory to Punjab.

Rajasthan win.Their side is better suited to these conditions.Watson,Warney and Botha will keep them down to a manageable total before Watson's assault on Mitch and Broad who wont like this pitch seals it comfortably for Rajasthan.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Match 1 - KKR win. Harris, Bresnan and Ishant restrict Deccan to a below par total before the runs are knocked off following good innings from Kallis and Morgan. KKR win by 6 wickets
Match 3 - KXI win. Just. Anderson will struggle beyond his first 1/2 overs and Kieswetter/Akmal/KP will take advantage of this. RTD to play a good finishing innings. Despite losing Warner and Sehwag early Iqbal and Taylor look to be seeing DD home before Clark comes back and pickes up a couple of wickets and the collapse continues due to some great bowling by Zaheer. KXI win by 4 runs.

Shanky, what in the blue blazes is the issue you have with my team? You seem to take great pleasure in bashing them at every opportunity. Maybe concentrate on your own team for a change instead of acting like you know best.

I'm fine against the whole voting, it's just the fact you seem to take a little too much time in picking fault. It's not productive.

It's just the facepalms that annoy me nothing else. I have no problem with you just the constant face-palms is going to wind people up.

IIRC I voted for your team in the 1st week saying that you would win comfortably as I felt you were better.Even now have I bashed your team?Have I said they are a bad side? No,I think. So I dont get your problem.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
Well perhaps you should consider others reactions to your 'opinion', it's not the first time you've laid waste to my team in the public domain. I've been working really hard to build a team mostly with pl;ayers I have limited knowledge of and then you can sit there and criticise?!
I refuse to give my time to something where my hard work and effort's just going to get a hammering every week.

Re: Week 3 - Voting Page
I thought you would lose by 1 run.
Its not like I am saying you are a third rate side who will get spanked easily.
I just explained how the match would pan out which is what we are supposed to arent we?

Match 5 - Mumbai win. Winning the toss is crucial as Malinga and Sammy take wickets with the new ball. A solid innings by Rohit Sharma sees MI home despite a herooic performance by Graeme Swann. MI win by 4 wickets
