Got 2 results calculated for Nick's league, just waiting on Viva's vote on Benfica v Liverpool before I publish.

Don't forget that it is the start of the cups next week...

BigFellasAfro wrote:ANNOUNCEMENT

The cup competition will begin again in the week between the week 6 and week 7 league games. Each round will be a one off game, meaning three rounds:

Week 6/7 = Prelim
Week 7/8 = Semi finals
Week 8/9 = Final

The draws will be same as before, and the rules will also be the same.

You pick only a starting XI, no subs.
You post brief tactics, no more than 10 lines of bullet points
Your team must contain 3 players who are U21 (born on or after 01/10/1990
Your team must contain 3 domestic players (eligible for the national team in the country you team is based e.g. Lyon = 3xFrench players)

Further details will be announced next week, including confirmation of the draws.

CF, if I was voting on your game, I would say the issue would be this:

STIRKERS: Right guys we need some goals, and im putting a lot of faith in the pair of you. Get in the box for the crosses, and put the chances away. Big signings the pair of ya, and its now time to deliver

You didnt give them any tactical instructions.

Its not about enough writing CF, you need to tell them what to do (like the other tactics you did)
The formation is one thing, but its the tactics that will swerve the votes for you.

are there going to be matches between leagues? For example Bayer leverkusen vs Benfica in the cup and everyone has to vote in every match except their own. I feel it would be better than how the cup matches are currently played out as it gets repetitive playing the same team in the league in the cup.

In season 2, there is "European competition" where matches will be played with teams in different leagues. Also, next season, the whole leagues get randomly redrawn so that teams are in different leagues and you play different teams. The only guarantee is that me, Nick and Viva will stay in our own leagues as the runners

Lazio v Juventus

I don’t really see either team scoreing. Juve wont break down lazios midfield and expect veloso to do a good job in shutting down teh Lazio attack

Very high scoring. Veloso is a lone figure against 3 Lazio CMs and he will get totally overwhelmed. However, Lazio are very narrow and with Juventus targeting the wide areas, they create a lot of chances also.

Close game between the two teams, Juventus need to add more to thier tactics. I feel Lazio need to go into the transfer market, tactics are very good but could improve thier team

Lazio fill the midfield and it works expertly as the Juventus CB's can't keep track of runners from midfield

Both good tactics and lineups and both have strong fire power, draw

Juve have the better team, Lazio the better tactics. Net result = draw

A battle of the midfield here. I can see it being too close to call due to the excellence of both teams, therefore ending up 1-1.

CF, if you think about it, on the opening game of the season you lost 3-1 to Lazio at home so you've got a massive improvement since then.

My vote was the 3-3 draw. I was also really put off with the diamond formation. Felt it left Veloso with far too much to do by himself.

I think you have the team, you just need to get the tactics nailed and you will start winning games
