Pacquiao vs Marquez - Primetime Interactive Thread
Just setting this one up in readiness for the topic that Buncey puts forward for discussion.
Following it's success during the Mayweather Ortiz fight card, Primetime will be going interactive in the studio again with a few boxing forums, one of which is ourselves.
By that, they mean Steve Bunce, along with studio guest Steve Collins, will be reading out selected posts from members of those forums taking part.
Presumably Buncey will put up a question for debate ahead of the fight like he did last time out, and will then discuss some of the responses that people give during the live studio airing.
So, keep an eye out for the topic for debate which I will add to this thread once we receive it, and put forward some good responses and you may just get a mention. (About 5 of our guys were mentioned last time out).
This is another good opportunity for 606v2 to get our name out there and possibly attract new members, whilst showing off just how knowledgeable we all are at the same time
Are many of you guys going to be up watching the fight live? I will be, and I'd imagine our competition winners Balti and Chris will be, so it'd be good to have a few others online during the card for some discussion to keep us entertained/awake!.
Remember, if you are intending to purchase this fight, please help out the forum with its running costs (we get a small percentage of each buy) by buying through our affiliate link to Primetime, which is here Primetime Website
Thanks

Re: Pacquiao vs Marquez - Primetime Interactive Thread
If you recall Coxy, Buncey asked a boxing question for discussion during the last fight which was unconnected to the actual Mayweather fight.
As opposed to having to derail the actual fight thread, Fists has set up this thread to discuss the topic on, making it easier for Buncey to find.

Re: Pacquiao vs Marquez - Primetime Interactive Thread
This, as Adam rightly says, is specifically for the Buncey question and the ensuing discussion related to that.
Once I receive the question, I'll add it to the OP.

There is a rule for boxing - No brazilians! Too much success in football, they've got Pele - so they need to stop being greedy.

Pele could get into the Luton Town team today.

My mind changes on the order between 2 and 4 on a regular basis, however. Not much to split Greb, Armstrong and Jofre.

Windy. Luton have been knocked out of the FA cup. Get your laughter out of the way so you wont be winded when the big fights start.

Re: Pacquiao vs Marquez - Primetime Interactive Thread
just something to possibly debate in the studio for buncey: is it nearly impossible for modern fighters to become top 5 p4p all time greats with them not fighting as much nowadays? example being looking at someone like manny pacqiaou and all he has achieved and many dont even see him as a top 20 candidate.

My own take on that would be that we do tend to look more kindly at fighters once their career has ended and the dust has had chance to settle.
I imagine in 10 years time we will most likely be talking about Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao as top 15-20 pound for pound all time greats.

Fair point. But the top 5 even top 10 is rich with talent who PROVED it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Here its a little different as mentioned by alex - less fights, shorter rounds etc and a bit more guff - even though there is more time to prepare. This lot are being robbed because of either inability or unwillingness to get the big fights they should. I think the relative openness with which conditions are applied to fighters regarding weight will also count against them - but then again it hasn't hurt Leonard much.
The onus is on the fighters to make sacrifices and get those matches up or else they will struggle to ever make it to the top of the p4p.

yeah the major problem for that is there isnt enough other fighters willing to take on the guys close around the fighters that are willing to fight the best and that isnt really said willing fighters fault.

Corporate peoplle should be kept out of sport - or heavily regulated if they want to take part.
Re: Pacquiao vs Marquez - Primetime Interactive Thread
Couldn't agree more. I know it's a business and the participants need to make a living but the money men involved are choking the life out of it. They only see what they perceive to be big business, rather than letting the results run their course.
