Khan as a Commentator
Anyone else think he did a good job, I personally felt he remained unbiased throughout the whole broadcast. I was expecting him to have a go at Bradley and Only look and Pacquiao's punches and ignore JMM. I preferred Khan as a commentator over most commentator's. He had good boxing Knowledge aswell and didn't come across as an idiot.

Yeh did a better job than I expected. His accent sounds weird with his voice when he is commentating but he was alright. I was expecting a little bias and was surprised when he called it as he saw it.
Re: Khan as a Commentator
Bloody awful.
"Styles make fights"
"Mannypacquiao* is sorr fast..."
"Mannypacquiao has such a good engine..."
There you go. That's pretty much what I remember. He needs to climb out of Pacquiao's bumhole and learn a few more words. Banal, repetitive and all-round uninteresting.
*Yes, I know that Manny Pacquiao is two names and not one, but Khan doesn't seem to realise that the way he speaks.

Re: Khan as a Commentator
I thought his co-commentator let him rabble on a little bit too much. He would have beeen better off coming in with sound bites I thought. He seemed stuck for the right phrase or words at times and that made me cringe a little.
If fairness to Khan he has never been an articulate guy and commentating isn't easy as evidenced by some of the profession commentators we are subjected to.
Khan will get better when he relaxes into the job.

His analysis was very good. But he did tend to focus his comments on Manny. His Bolton accent is a bit annoying though!
And the shameless plug for his brothers sheesha place in Bolton was scandalous!

LMAO. I didn't know it was his brothers. I've been there- its quite good but bit heavy on the wallet relative to bolton ones.
Re: Khan as a Commentator
Haha! Even my Mrs said that was out of order when he said it!

Cheeky! Ah well - can't fault him for helping out his family even if it is a bit rude.
Re: Khan as a Commentator
One thing I would bet on after last night, having heard Khan commentate: if Jinkee ever divorces Pacquiao I bet she names Khan in the proceedings...

Re: Khan as a Commentator
talked absolute Love sacks for the full 12 rounds with 1 exception- he suggested that juanma did enough to win. said 'styles make fights' about a dozen times. called marquez 'juan diaz' at one point. his brain doesnt work fast enough for his mouth. talked about himself ceaselessly. shouldnt be invited anywhere near a mic again in a hurry.

Not really am a JMM fan, I may have expected him to be worse than he was, i had really low expectations of Khan as a commentator that could have just suprised me, He didn't really have a go at Bradley which I thought he would

I didn't hear that part.
The other guy I forget his name was very biased for Marquez so Khan being biased for Pacquiao made it even out, He did give the fight to JMM

Re: Khan as a Commentator
I thought Khan was terrible, kept on repeating the same things all night; "Manny needs to go to the body", "Manny looked great in training camp", "I sparred with Manny don't you know", "I've offered a fight to every top LWW and WW and they have all turned me down". The worst part for me was when seconds before the decision he said he would offer Marquez a fight if he won, he's not there to call out fighters, he's there to comment on the fight he has just seen not try and be the big man and satisfy his ego.
I like Khan the fighter but i never want to hear him in the commentary box again, perhaps if it didn't involve Manny it wouldn't be so bad but thought he was awful through the main event.

Re: Khan as a Commentator
i dont have to like listening to his goshite. he ought to take a leaf out of juanma's book and just do his talking in the ring and not in front of a microphone. i admire humility in a fighter. he hasnt got the intellect for media work and usually puts both boots in his mouth when interviewed on his own career. imho it undermines his reputation. he tweeted that katsidis was nothing more than a 3 round fighter shortly before kats put on another noble performance against burns who simply outclassed him. there was no need for that. katsidis has never shirked a challenge and is widely respected in this country. another book khan could take a leaf out of.AlexHuckerby wrote:leave the kid alone he isnt a bad guy and he has never been the most articulate guy or the sharpest christian in the bible

Re: Khan as a Commentator
I thought Khan did alright and was fairly quick to change his tune when Pacquiao was struggling. Steve Collins is a man i cannot warm to at all though, he doesn't half talk some crap, his dvd is the worst boxing dvd i have ever purchased.

Re: Khan as a Commentator
to khan's credit he has apparently come out and said that he felt marquez won by 1 or 2 points.......unless he is angling for a fight with his former 'bestie' now that he thinks he's fallable!
