Graham Rowntree for Wales!
With the reports that Wales are trying to poach Rowntree from England to replace McBryde I was at first a but wary. I would have preferrd a welshman to be developed but realistically there is no welsh candidate with the level of experience that Rowntree brings to the table. Rowntree is the one English coach who emerged with any credit from teh RWC and is capable of really improving our setpiece.
Even though it would mean only one welsh coach in our top setup in Howley, Ive sort of come around to the idea. The question is now whether we can prise him away from the squeekily run SS Cabbage Patch, unless it hits an iceberg first of course.

Re: Graham Rowntree for Wales!
Rowntree is precisely a scrum coach, what's to say he could effectively expand his area of expertise to the entire forwards platform even if he was brought aboard? Where to these reports come from anyway? This is the first I've heard of them...
In any case I don't see what McBryde is doing wrong. I think the fire he and some of the other assistants have come under is a result of hysteric blame-seeking when things haven't gone great. Pretty much every part of the forwards' game was strong this WC.

Rowntree has been reported on lots of websites as being linked with Wales Knowsit - Isn't McBryde going to be heavily involved with the Goggs now ?

The Scarlets pack has improved massively since McBryde was replaced by Garin Jenkins, sad to say McBryde just doesn't look like a top-class forwards coach, funnily enough I read 6 years ago the McBryde was destined to be in charge of a Scarlets north-Wales Acadamy, perhaps it'll be coming true but with different employers.

Leave Garin at the scarlets, he's doing some good work there and needs to be left alone and build his experience...after then, who knows?

Dai Young I suspect, will become available for Welsh duty in twelve months or so.

I wonder why no English fans have commented on their reluctance to lose Rowntree?
