Lancaster & Rowntree to take charge for the 6N.
BBC Sport understands Stuart Lancaster and Graham Rowntree will be in charge of England for Six Nations.
RFU are destined to play a waiting game for Mr Mallett methinks.

Well...at least the forwards might play like an actual international pack with Rowntree in charge of the whole malarky not just the scrum....

Does that mean Ford and Wells have been given their P45s or that they will be working under Rowntree and Lancaster?

Will these two be soley incharge of England through the 6ns.
Or will Rob Andrew be breathing down their necks all the time.

Re: Lancaster & Rowntree to take charge for the 6N.
The RFU have said that they want a full-time permanent position to be filled in time for the tour to South Africa in June.
Key names in the frame then:
Mallet - he'd be happy to start after the 6N
Mallinder - he'd be happy to start after the end of the AP
White's out as he has reiterated his committment to The Brumbies today and SCW will be busy with some event down south next summer.
As Mallett has said he would NOT report to a "Director of Rugby" only to the board, and Squeaky is leading the recruitment drive, right now I'd be putting a groat on Mallinder being the man for the job.
As the old saying goes, Turkeys won't vote for Christmas so unless Squeaky is on his way out.....
Well, we can live in hope I suppose.

Lancaster and Rowntree are men with nothing to loose. It is just possible they might do a rather good job between them, depending on the support and latitude for decision making they are allowed (consultant coaches etc).
That would make a nice headache for the RFU come decision time.

Re: Lancaster & Rowntree to take charge for the 6N.
I really dont see a caretaker coach as the answer but given the mess the RFU are in they dont really have any choice. All the real candidates for the job have ruled themselves out. It leaves whoever comes in as caretaker without any backing from above, which is hardly going to do anything for team discipline.
Honestly its England sacrificing the Six Nations whilst the civil war goes on. In six months time they will be in the same position still looking for a coach. There are people in the RFU who see SCW as the only saviour for England and they will delay anything until he can come back as Elite performance director then they will expect him to save them from their poor decisions. SCW will not be able to turn it around intime for the World cup in 2015 and those in the RFU who dont want him back will be waiting with their knives sharpened.
Decisive action now could easily start England back on the winning trail. Delaying now is a disaster waiting to happen.
