Dean Ryan no holes barred attack at rfu and Andrew being culpable for three poor England coaches

Ran into Dragons game , booooo
The RFU setup seems ridiculously over complicated, bald clunge rambling on about picking the right person to pick the right person as manager Great for England , poisonous for the Lions, how can he accuse Johnson about being sentimental in his squad selections when he pretty much picked the off form Englans squad for the 2005 Lions squad

Unable to watch it due to living in Holland but i can well imagine that several pundits are amazed that Rob Andrew is still accepting no responsibility what so ever.
I was interested to hear that Sir Clive Woodward say that Rob Andrew had failed in his duties by showing MJ no support at all.

Maestag - thanks.
The solidarity forming up behind Johnson is overwhelming and rock solid. Interesting.
Goes to show the Rugby community all know where the problems really lie.

intentional or not i thought Dean Ryan gave a pretty credible pitch for being the next England head coach, he spoke very articulately about how he'd do the job if given the opportunity and i was very impressed. He did say he's not interested though while the RFU is in the state it is, don't blame him for that.

Islington I agree, I like Ryan, he gives good articulate analysis. Didnt do anything amazing with Gloucester but there may have been mitigating factors, as there currently are with the RFU

From what i remember, he built a decent team at Gloucester that was incapable of winning the big games when it really mattered, bit like Mallinder at the Saints right now. My preference is for the next head coach to be English but unfortunately there are not many credible options out there, for that reason i'd hope it'll be either Ryan or Mallinder - hoping they have learnt leasons from the near misses.

I like Dean Ryan. I am not sure if will be offered the job though. Didnt he have a spat with Rob Andrew a few years back?

eirebilly - i don't know anything about that but i got the distinct impression last night that Ryan would not remotely consider the job while Andrew is at the RFU. So you may well be right.

I cant quite remeber what it was Islington but there was some bad blood between the two.. Itsa shame tht Rob Andrew does not see just what he is doing right now.

Completely agree with one of the things that was said. There shouldn't be any rush in appointing a new manager. If need be, get a caretaker manger like Stuart Lancaster up from the Saxons, get the top of the RFU sorted first, then go for a permanent manager and coaching set up.
