Good News for Surrey but Bad News for Chris from Stroud
Surrey CCC have today confirmed the return of Ali Brown to the Oval as second team coach.
Excellent news! Not only his return home but the fact that we now have a wise and experienced professional employed on a permanent basis to look after our young second teamers and concentrate on their development.
As for Chris from Stroud - he was hoping the job would go to Jon Batty who had been linked with it a few weeks ago!

Guildford - will be excellent to see Ali Brown back. I genuinely have no idea whether he is fitted for this sort of job - but let's hope he is. It was a pity the way his batting career rather fizzled out in the last stages at Surrey and then Notts so l really hope this goes well. Maybe he will also excerise his influence to encourage Le Roi and RHB to be a bit more aggressive

Just seen that a similar thought occurred to Offdrive over on the wallpaper site: "One of my favourite players, maybe he can persuade Jason Roy to come out of his shell and play a few shots!"

Noticed that two minutes ago!
Generally, very quiet on the wallpaper site - a consequence of success?

I had thought our revered former Prime Minister had had a couple of glasses of port too many for his dyspepsia and had dropped off....
But, as you say, has now taken the stage again!

According to the fine and normally reliable cricket journalist Richard Spiller writing in today's Surrey Advertiser, the Club turned down both Paul Farbrace and Andy Moles, ''two experienced coaches with international pedigrees'', prior to giving Ali Brown a two year contract as second team coach.
With Adams' emphasis and concentration on fitness, I'm pretty sure that Moles would not have been the right appointment even though I really liked him during his playing days as an opening bat for Warks. Moles was never the slimmest of cricketers and always liked his grub. In one CC game, however, he was in the ''nervous nineties'' when tea was taken. Being on edge and wishing to keep his concentration, Moles sat quietly alone in the changing room and most unusually declined the fine tea available. Soon after the resumption, he reached his ton. At the end of that over, Warks' twelfth man came out with a can of Coke and a ham sandwich which Moles immediately consumed!

"Hoping"?
Try "relying on the fact that."
How dare you at our misfortune!!

PS Do you need a third team coach?
Or maybe DrinksCarrier needs some advice on carrying the drinks more efficiently?
The good news is that Gloucs' Young Player of the Year award was given to Richard Coughtrie, the 23 year old keeper who was eventually entrusted to take over from JB in the second half of the season.
Hope you have some success whilst bringing on some youth in Div One.
