Deadlift – possible adverse effect on back of knee (popliteus muscle)?
I am a masters athlete. I was doing reps of 100kg deadlift again. I am pretty careful with the technique. Afterwards doing a standing long jump, I felt an injury (popliteus muscle?) behind my left knee. I have had this mysterious injury before when long jumping and now I recall it may also have been in a period when I was doing deadlift. Long jump is still the main suspect but can deadlift also have this effect?

I'm not really qualified to say to as I rarely do deadlifts, but there certainly can be strain on the knees if form isn't quite right.
