We didn't get relegated!
OK, this is of no real interest to anyone else, but the Men's Doubles team I play for didn't get relegated this season after all. One of the other clubs had some penalties applied and we stayed up by one point!
Wooohooo!
Wooohooo!

(No idea what they were penalised for - it wasn't me that ratted them out!)

ok, so you won't make the front cover of Tennis Life, JHM ..... but at least by the magic of the internet a load of people get to know about your survival than would have been the case years ago !
In today's world of big-money high-pressure sport, worth reminding ourselves now & then that it all started with folk playing just for fun and/or a bit of exercise
Was interested to read about these amateurs who came through some sort of selection process to win the chance to play a set with the senior pros at the Albert Hall Aegon Masters
http://consumption.oraclecms.aegon.co.uk/AEGONTennis/News/cms_015147
one of the amateurs says .... "it has always been a dream of mine to see just how big the gulf is between their standard and mine"
These are county players (one is a qualified coach) and it's the sort of thing that intrigues me too. No mention (that I can find) of how things went in the match itself but their blogs make interesting reading

The two winners were Martin Home and Corin Superfine. They should get married and live happily ever after in a....Superfine-Home!
