Where would Torres go?
There is a rumour that Chelsea would sell Fernando Torres as he is now only a bit-part player. What club would be the ideal destination for him? I'd like to see him at Arsenal.

27 years old.
Will cost a big transfer fee.
Large wages.
Poor injury record when playing regularly.
In the worst form of his life.
Confidence low.
Lost that initial burst of acceleration that has served him so well in England.
I'd love the Fernando Torres of 2/3 years ago back at Liverpool, but there's absolutely no guareentees and given his age and the money involved I wouldn't have him back as of now. I'd love to see him back to somewhere near his best though.

Fee wise he's meant to be only £20m. Personally I think he'll go back to Spain so probably the likes of Malaga who have cash to spend. Alternatively PSG who also are bringing in the big names atm.

Re: Where would Torres go?
He won't leave at the end of the season unless things get really bad. The fact that Anelka is definitely on his way out and Drogba sounds like he is following Anelka in the same direction (To China!) for 175K a week (Anelka) and 200K a week (Drogba) then it sounds less likely that Torres will be sold.
A possible brave move from Chelsea would be to start Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku together perhaps?

Re: Where would Torres go?
If AVB continues to set the team up the way he has been the last few games then I think that would suit Torres much better. He likes receiving the ball facing the goal rather than being involved in patient build-up play so Chelsea playing a little deeper should, in theory, open up more opportunities for him.

I think PSG would be his most likely destination if he were to leave. If he moves back to Spain he would surely only go back to Atletico Madrid.

I think Inter could be realistic, Milito has been off form since the CL final,Pazzini is injured a lot and Forlan has been out for some time too.

Re: Where would Torres go?
He should have gone to Arsenal in the first place, who play the way that suits Torres far more than Chelsea.
As for where should he go, I still think Arsenal, But also PSG, Inter would be a possability or Bayern Munich should Gomez go.

Re: Where would Torres go?
Would some consider that the Torres purchase was a case of Chelsea buying someone merely so no one else could have them? Wright-Philips and Parker spring to mind as players who hardly got a game at Chelsea and who would have done a good job somewhere else.
Personally, reckon that Torres has plenty left in him. He went to the wrong club at the wrong time. Don't think they'll be a shortage of clubs interested if he becomes available.

I doubt Gomez will be leaving, he's been about the best striker in Europe for the last season and a half.

Agree, which is why i think he will leave, can Bayern hold on to him if a Man City, Real, Barca make a big money bid ?

Anywhere but Liverpool!
Don't need anybody, however good they could be, who isn't fully commited to the shirt.

Correct Sir. Liverpool really is the only place for him. Probably past his best now.

Hmm well King Kenny would probably need to sell Carroll back to Newcastle and move Suarez on as well and then it will be like the good old days.
