Novotel (stayed in one in Brum before, comfy ,clean, good job)

Film- Seven. To be honest I was pretty lazy until I saw what happened to "sloth". No laziness ever again now

Book- Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Just edge out several other thought provoking reads - and has the added advantage of denonstrating why anti-Science Fiction snobbery is just ignorance missing out on some of the best written philosophy out there.

Album- Grace by Jeff Buckley- not because of the messages within it but because it totally opened up my taste in music and my enjoyment of it which I feel is inseparably linked to my choices afterwards.

Show - Scrubs. Great show that made me first consciously realise what I wanted to do with my life (subconsciously I was already on this route I think) and actually ethically prepared in many ways.

Other- comic- the sandman, for similar reasons
