Is Martinez VS BHop possible at 168?
What do you all make of this fight? Could it happen?
BHop would be favorite but could Martinez pull it off? Does he have any chance at all?
Personally I would put BHop as heavy favorite because of the boxing skills but I wouldn't write Martinez off completely. He carries power and if he is able to connect cleanly with a few then he could make BHOp look his age and try and overwhelm him from there.
If the fight is made after BHop vs Pascal (BHop wins) and Martinez does pull it off would he be P4P#1?
Trying to think of differenet scenarios and see how the remainder of Martinez's career could pan out. In your opinion, what does Martinez need to do to over take Manny and Floyd and retire as p4p #1?
Thanks.

Re: Is Martinez VS BHop possible at 168?
I'd certainly put him top of the pound for pound tree if he managed to outfox the 'unfoxoutable' Hopkins up at 168 lb; sadly though, this fight is basically an impossibility, and even if it weren't I don't see how Martinez could win.
Martinez has some serious whack down at 154 lb or 160 lb, but there's no telling if this is going to carry up to Super-Middleweight. I can't for the life of me see anyone taking out Hopkins (even a forty-six year old version of him) with a single punch, so that's the Williams KO repeat out of the window, and essentially Hopkins can do all the other things that Martinez can do, only he now does them the best part of 20 lb above Martinez.
Hopkins too big and rangy, for me, and takes a decision against Martinez. As much as I like the Argentine, he just isn't a Super-Middleweight in my eyes.

Yes Dave, unfoxoutable. I'm such a maverick, I know!

Oh hang on, maybe you were right after all. Silly me. It's not easy this inventing new words business, you know.

Don't BHop can get back down to Super middle to be honest - think he would prefer to move up to heavy and challenge David Haye!
Neither look likely.

I think Martinez would be a very small SMW whilst I think B-Hop at this stage in his career won't move back down in weight.

Too much weight jumping happens nowadays. Martinez should stay and completely clean out Middleweight. There are still some interesting fights there for him.

Hopkins has his hands full with a pascal rematch (which I expect him to win) and then he is going to fight bute or diaconu/dawson.
