Teddy Tamgho hit with ban
Article here from the Beeb: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/athletics/16265927.stm
Not much on it at the mo, but it is due to an altercation with another athlete, he's banned until May 18th. Will this play into Idowu's hands for the Olympics? Or will it benefit Tamgho with no one knowing what form he's in by the time the Olympics come round?
Certainly an unusual situation!

His ban ends just as the season starts.
So not really a ban at all, unless his main aim this year was indoors.
Not really an issue at all.

You don't think?
I dunno, I'd have thought indoors might have been an aim, just to give an idea of how winter training is going etc. He's not exactly going to have much time to find out what form he's in in competitions etc.

The same amount of time that all the athletes that don't bother with indoors have though.
There are 8 diamond league events between his ban finishing and the start of the games, so he'll have plenty of time to find out what form he's in.
Also, an athlete can fairly easily gauge what sort of form they're in from how training is going (he's not banned from training) particularly in an event like TJ. It's a lot easier in the field than it is in a middle distance event or something.

hmmm true that. Still don't think it's going to be ideal perperation for him, for the media attention alone he's probably going to get.
Also, the hidden gossip in me really wants to know the particulars now!

Yeah, true. I agree it's not ideal for him, but he should be adaptable enough for it not to affect him much.
I want to know who the woman was and who won, haha.

Poor Teddy, expected to be the successor of Philly Idowu then out of nowhere Christian Taylor leaps over him.
