Khan puts his money where his mouth is....
Why couldn't he just stuff it all in his mouth quite literally? Khan has decided to formerly appeal, oh dear.
"Stop pushing him away Khan" - Everyone heard him getting warned, is just the desperate act of a sore loser.

It's quite a long article, here it is in a spoiler:
- Spoiler:
On Friday, after having reviewed both the three judges' scorecards and a DVD of the fight that was provided by promoter Golden Boy Promotions, the IBF decided not to order an immediate rematch of Lamont Peterson's upset split-decision victory over Amir Khan for the IBF/WBA junior welterweight belts on Dec. 10.
Click here for round-by-round live blog.
But that request was a formal protest.
Now, however, Khan is putting his money where his mouth is.
RIngTV.com has learned that Golden Boy Promotions filed an official appeal on Khan's behalf on Monday in relation to alledged scoring descrepancies and his camp's contention that the match was poorly officiated by Virginia-based referee Joe Cooper.
What makes Khan's appeal official is that this second request was accompanied by a non-refundable fee in the form of a $10,000 check, along with a letter and a DVD of the fight. The request, in accordance with IBF requirements, was made within 10 days of the bout.
As a result, the IBF will set up a date on which to hold an official hearing during which it will appoint three judges or referees to convene as a panel and review the evidence. That panel will determine whether or not rules were violated and if there is justification for an immediate rematch.
The $10,000 goes toward flying in the officials, housing the panel in a hotel and feeding them. Over the course of around two weeks, the hearing usually plays out during which both sides will give testimony which will be examined and reviewed by the panel toward coming back with a decision.
From the time the testimony is heard, the Panel will take as many as 10 days to return with a verdict. Given that it is Christmas time, the entire process might not be completed before the first 10 days of January.
Promoter Don King was once successful with such an appeal for an immediate rematch over rules violations after his cruiserweight Steve Cunningham lost a split decision to Krzysztof Wlodarczyk of Poland in their IBF title bout in November 2006. Cunningham won the rematch by a majority decision in May 2007. Cunningham-Wlodarczyk I and II were each contested in Poland.
Off official protests, the IBF has ordered two such immediate rematches -- Abner Mares-Joseph Agbeko II and Cunningham-Yoan Pablo Hernandez, the latter of which is schedueld for Feb. 4 in Frankfurt, Germany.
The IBF ordered an immediate rematch between winner Mares and former bantamweight titleholder Agbeko after referee Russell Mora failed to penalize Mares for repeated low blows in their fight on Aug. 13 on Showtime.
IBF Championship Chairman Lindsay Tucker and IBF president Darryl Peoples deterrmined that a Mares-Agbecko rematch was warranted after having reviewed replays of their bout, including an 11th-round knockdown punch that Mora ruled legal even though replays clearly showed the punch landing on Agbeko's cup.
Mares won the Showtime-televised return bout by unanimous decison over Agbeko on Dec. 3. The move by Khan's camp was similar to the formal protest made by King, but with a subtle difference, Tucker told RingTV.com last week.
"I know that Golden Boy was saying that it was the same case as it was with Mares. But in the case of Abner Mares, the difference between what happened with Khan's situation and what happened with the Mares-Agbeko fight was that the guy who actually lost the first fight, Agbeko, was the guy who had been fouled," said Tucker last week.
"This last fight, the guy who lost the fight was the guy who was committing the fouls. Khan was the guy who was holding down the head and using the elbows and doing the pushing."
The IBF also ordered an immediate rematch off an informal protest with a cruiserweight title bout in which Cunningham lost his belt by sixth-round technical decision to Hernandez on Oct. 1 in Neubrandenburg, Germany.
The fighters accidentally clashed heads twice in the early rounds, causing a cut over Hernandez's right eye that widened as the fight progressed. In the sixth round, Hernandez's trainer, Ulli Wegner, asked for an examination by referee Mickey Vann, who then stopped the bout on the advice of ringside doctor Walter Wagner.
Tucker said that he and Peoples reviewed the video of the clash and determined that there "was an improper stoppage of the title fight." They then oredered Hernandez and Cunningham to fight a return bout.
Peterson edged Khan, 113-112 on the cards of judges George Hill of New Jersey and Valerie Dorsett of North Carolina, losing 115-110 on that of Nelson Vazquez of Puerto Rico.
Organizations assign their own official scorers to bouts as backup references, and WBA representative Michael Welsh scored it a draw, according to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, while the IBF's rep Paul Ortiz had it for Peterson, said Tucker.
Golden Boy Promotions had initially requested that Washington D.C.Boxing and Wrestling Commission chairman Scottie Irving overturn the result of the win by Peterson (30-1-1, 15 knockouts) over Khan (26-2, 18 KOs).
Khan was deducted one point each during the the seventh and 12th rounds by Cooper, who was chosen by the commission from a list of four referees provided by the IBF, according to Tucker and Irving. Khan was penalized for pushing Peterson's head down in the seventh, and for shoving Peterson away in the 12th.
Tucker and Peoples responded to Khan's formal protest seeking an immediate rematch against Cooper's decision to deduct points.
"We decided not to order an immediate rematch on the basis of the fact that in the rules, if the referee feels that it's a foul, then that's his call to take a point. In that fight, he did warn Khan several times before he actually took the first point," said Tucker.
"At one point, before he took the point, Cooper said, 'this is the final warning.' I believe that that was in sixth round, because he took the point in the seventh round. But before he took the point, he did say 'this is the final warning,' and then, he did take the point."
And i haven't watched it in years. Did he get past the first 3 questions?

Not going to single Khan out but if there is one thing that winds me up more than anything it is when people use the fact they were not born as an excuse for not knowing about stuff, for frig sake read a book occasionally. Fair enough Alex but if you don't read much and are a bit on the dim side perhaps it might be prudent not to appear on a quiz show. If you do appear and choose to showcase your stupidity for the great British public you're fair game for folk like me who are having a bad day.

I agree with Rowley I'm a bit dim and don't read a lot unless it's a book about the sport of boxing as Floyd would say. I would never go on a gameshow although it is for charity so a bit harsh maybe.

No exuse, if he didn't go on they would book someone else who will almost certainly be brighter than him and as such has a much greater chance of winning a higher amount, so by appearing Khan is actually taking money away from those that need it most. He may as well burn money outside the Salvation Army.

I'm with jeff on this, we seem to live in an age where the majority of people think that if it's not covered by Heat or Now or discussed by Alan Carr or Graham Norton then it's not worth knowing. If you ever want to despair at the level of stupidity in this country then watch Million Pound Drop or whatever its called. Saw it once and nearly threw myself out of the window in horror.

Another thing that winds me up is how few quiz shows have actual questions in them, have not seen Million pound drop and Davina McCall makes me want to puke but watched that one with Ant and Dec and it is basically pick a colour! how is that a skill are we really that dim we can't even tackle questions that require even the most basic level of general knowledge now.
Am willing to accept not every quiz show is University Challenge but for pity's sake don't pander to dumb folk, exclude them and make them feel bad about their stupidity.

Thing is - for every "proper" quiz show - and for that, I'm expecting questions at Mastermind level at least and preferably at Univ challenge - the remaining quiz shows fill up half the questions with dross about celebrities, soaps and pop stars.
Growing up - there was 15 to 1, Blockbusters - all manner of daytime channel 4 quiz shows with proper serious questions that required intellect (some more than others). They've gone now - to be replaced by re-runs of locationlocationlocation - and to me that is a great shame.

Why should I feel bad about my stupidity as you call it? If you want to watch a gameshow where the questions are tough go and watch University Challenge or take QI seriously. I don't feel the need to read books and learn who some guy who did or didn't have an apple fall on his head may be why does that bother you so much.

To be honest - if you are being punched in the face for a living then intelligence is usually the exception rather than the norm. I myself have no excuse although I know who Sir Isaac Newton is - he is the guy who stopped apples being monopolised by the crystal maze by inventing gravity?

But it's all down to what you know, as cliched as it sounds, and what emphasis you place on particular knowledge.
I freely admit that I'm a horrendous bore, and read history books and study maps and get a semi when I'm confronted by a set of statistics for something as mundane as ranking countries by paper production or rice consumption (mildly autistic).
I have never watched a soap opera, own no cds and listen to no music, and never read red top newspapers. The average teenager would consider me as thick as a plank, and I can't answer a single question about popular culture in pub quizes.

Yeah but the popular culture stuff is always something thats happened that day. So if you are going to be on you read the papers and would be fine. the genuine general knowledge stuff is generally fairly basic.
If you were on you could read them for one week for that sort of money. Have faith in yourself Bob! Sure you would do fine!

Your promotional company tells you what to do, who to fight, when and how much. The boxer himself is the last to say anything behind the scenes. If the promotional companmy says jump, Khan says "how high". Mayweather called it a slave contract and he had a point.
Khan just has to go along with it. $10k is chicken feed compared to the millions that have gone down the drain.

Father of modern physics and one of the most important and greatest Britons that ever lived. Defo one to have googled before saying his name didn't ring any bells!
