After the final France would have to be the best bet. But after the Tonga match you would be just inclined to pick someone else.
So its about how they go overall, which with inconsistency brings France back to the pack.
That leaves Wales as the biggest chaser, depending on how Ireland regather and England recover from the comedy of '11. But momentum is certainly with Wales.
Forget the rest...no chance in this format.

A poll on who will win a poll? Is this really necessary?

Whoever's got 3 home games as opposed to 2 should be considered more likely. For England, France away is always tough, and Scotland in Edinburgh appears to be our hoodoo.

We should have a poll to see it it's necessary. Maesteg enjoys just posting wholesale from Planet Rugby!luckless_pedestrian wrote:A poll on who will win a poll? Is this really necessary?

Isn't title of this thread really misleading then?

With regards to the PR Poll quite a resounding reaction to Wales currently 547 votes, France 518, Ireland 418, England 293, Scots 86 and Italy 64.

'Six Nations Poll on Planet Rugby' would be better. I had an idea what you were actually asking, but the title of the thread was asking something else.
P.S. I'm a self-confessed pedant.

Wouldn't a lot of that Planet Rugby 1800+ crowd on Planet Rugby be SH?
Yes, well they do like a good show and Wales certainly put on one. So there is a memory note there for them and now they've lost a lot of interest until next time a NH side comes down south.
But up here we know the intricacies better.
We know that England won 4 games at the WC and were kicked out at the QFs
We know that Ireland won 4 games at the WC and were kicked out at the QFs
We know that Wales won 4 games at the WC and got to the semis
We know that France won 4 games at the WC and got to the final!
That's a lot of knowing when you face these sides each year on cold fields in front of home and away crowds. A whole new ball game as the ancient old line goes.

Re: Who will win the Six Nations Poll on Planet Rugby
It´s not all enlightenment up in the north SecretFly. I remember posting an article that France should not be underestimated in the final and a whole lot of NH posters were only too happy to recommend suitable medication.
The draw counts for a lot in the 6N. That´s why it´s very difficult to win back-to-back trophies. For example, England have a favourable draw this year and much will depend on how they deal at home with their bogey team over the decade - Ireland and whether they can continue their recent good fortune over Wales and France and hope that they can move over the Murrayfield speed bump successfully. Ireland with an away game in England and France have things a lot tougher this year.
Strangely what all of the nations crave is consistency. It has been up and down for all of them, albeit to varying degrees. Whoever can get on top early and have their confidence build as a result will gain a lot of momentum that will be difficult to stop. The only sides who seem to defy the laws of momentum are Scotland and Italy who are used to making the most of their few golden opportunities when they come along.

England had an incredibly favourable draw last year, three games on the trot at home, never known that to happen before.
All the nations will have a few significant changes this year, nothing is certain. But there are grounds for optimism everywhere.

You can hardly call murrayfield a speedbump when England haven't won there for 8 years nor have they scored a try

OK climb over the Murrayfield wall with no rope and no firm ground to get a good jump.

Yet they still played two away games. I fail to see how this was "incredibly favourable". I guess the championship doesn't count. Scratch it from the records!maestegmafia wrote:England had an incredibly favourable draw last year, three games on the trot at home, never known that to happen before.

I don't think Scotland have scored a try vs England at Murrayfield either.
The Scotland vs England matches at Murrayfield are normally borefests. Most boring game I have ever seen was the Scotland vs England match 2008.
It will be interesting to see what approaches both teams take.
