I'd only want him to come back if his attitude's improved really. Bags of talent, just whether or not he can use it properly.

Re: Liam Davies
Only on a short term contract. With Knoyle and Aled Davies injured it makes sense to have backup.

Re: Liam Davies
it does, but waht about the guy from Llanelli RFC, Justin....something? (curse my memory!) He's been brilliant this season, might be deserving a call up.

Re: Liam Davies
Justin James? I guess he would feel aggrieved. But we will need experience in bigger matches.

Re: Liam Davies
Played for the Scarlets, then played for the O's (?) I think? before moving to France. Very talented scrum half.

I remember the only match I saw him play for the Ospreys he got a MOTM award

Re: Liam Davies
Dreamer - i think he went to France (same time as Barry did), the Ospreys (again same time as Barry) and then off to France again.
To be blunt I don't really see any reason for us to bring him back. We seem to have some decent scrum halves in the region. Also isn't Tipuna still around in the region if we were short?

Re: Liam Davies
Yup he wasn't really working out, the regions coaches seem to have an awful habbit of bringing in foreign scrum halves just as the local Welsh ones hit the level where they should be first choice. Take Webb at the Ospreys, why the hell did they bring Kahn Fotuali'i in?Chunky Norwich wrote:Tipuna moved to Bristol some months back

Re: Liam Davies
Aled Davies and Tavis are long term injuries though SS.
There is a chance Gareth Davies could be called up to the Wales squad so that would leave us with just Rhodri Williams.
We do need SH cover. Would have been nice to have Tipuna still in the region, but a short term contract for someone else is needed, just wish it wasn't for Liam Davies! Would much have preferred Justin James get a chance to step up, but guess then the RFC wouldn't have cover.

I dunno. If the Ospreys don't want to play Webb, then I know a couple of Welsh regions who sould. He's excellent.
Idiots.

Re: Liam Davies
I understood why they signed Kahn, I mean with Phillips gone, the O's were short at top notch SH's, however why they keep playing him ahead of Webb is beyond me! Tis clear who is the form SH at the moment and it aint Kahn!

Re: Liam Davies
Injury hangover maybe ? There's a distinct lack of spirit in the squad this season - like a different team compared to this time last year.
Used to be I wouldn't be scared of anyone playing us at the Dave - taken some big names - now we're lucky to get a LBP

Dont worry you'll be facing an injured and weakened Ospreys Friday, who only had 5 days rest from a battering with the Blues, besides the Ospreys never beat the Dragons and we play you 3 times in the next few months so you'll have plenty to cheer about!munkian wrote:Injury hangover maybe ? Hang on I'm just running this through my Gwent language translator so an Ospreys fan can understand it....
"The Scarlets second team, spanked us, I really don't want to see those greasy, orange, city slickers from Swansea, come to Rodney Parade and give us a hiding. I am converting to the Cardiff Blues hence forth".
Ah ha got it!

You'd be right but I really cant remember the last time Ospreys spanked us at home
And the Scarlets didnt spank us, we spanked ourselves - we are the chronic masturbators of the Rabbo and Amlin

Re: Liam Davies
I heard on BBC that Warren Fury was looking for a club so Bath signed him on a short term loan - it would seem he would have been a better choice for Scarlets than Davies...

Re: Liam Davies
Smirnoff - Ain't Fury been out of contract since the end of last season though (since Leeds were relegated)? I don't mean it too disrespectful, but the lad is not a particularly good scrum half, and if Gatland hadn't handed known him from his time at the Wasps, Fury probably would never have been noticed by the WRU or the Welsh public at all.

Re: Liam Davies
Not sure - I'd just assumed he'd had a short contract somewhere else after Leeds got relegated.
Not saying he's a good scrum half but I would have thought he'd be better than Liam Davies who was playing in the French 2nd division wasn't he? (it's not saying much and I imagine Rhodri W will be better than both, though he's very very green)
