Italian front row is very very good. Each player would do well in our league its just with them playing in Italian league you don;t really see them for 40 weeks of a year.

Think pooly was right about Debaty. Never seen him struggle
When playing for clermont but Castro is killing him. For me hari read and parisse even as best 8s in the world. Hari best to watch as so skilful

All 3 are fantastic players. Very skillfull great hands but would have Pariise ahead of Harri and Read. Such a wonderful player.
Picamoles having a great game hes realy come on in the last year/18 months. Monster of a carrier

Pickles playing well. When hari is fully fit they will have an interesting decision to make. Personally i always think in the interests of continuity if the man who has the shirt is playing well you should not come straight back in.

Parisse is my favourite forward, never lets the side down. I like Hari but he still has days where he can look ordinary (sure Dallagio used to refer to him as Hari-ordinary), but others where he is easily best forward. Read is going to be the best I think, very dynamic and powerful.

And just heard Charlie Davies has now been carried off injured and looks like he could be out for quite some time - if it wasnt for the two new wings and Russian forwards we'd just have 20 fit players to pick from!

I don't mean to sound to negative but if things don't work for England in this 6N they could well finish bottom of the pile the way the Italians are playing. I don't think we will, but it's possible.

Sorry Matt dont see it with Bonnaire. Hes a great lineout man and a very good blindside but the French have better options. Dusatoir is the man that holds that side together for me. Debaty is taking a right stuffing scrum time. Pooly got it spot on about him great around the park but not worth anything really scrum time

Bonnaire is a huge player for France as I do think he helps keep everything together. He is easier to leave out that Dusatoir who is a machine but I wouldn't leave him out.

A lot of trouble so far at no8 and no9 - we have to give Hodgson and Farrell a platform to play and get some territory. Denton and Evans two big threats atm.

Making too many mistakes - would like to see Dickson and Morgan introduced as have to say Scotland are a poor team.

Foden easily best 15 in rugby now - amaing defensive performance from him.

Barritt must have made 50% of England's tackles today!

I thought Foden was poor. He was good in defence but I wouldn;t be happy with that performance every week.

I don't expect to see changes for next week unless Tuilagi or Wood is fit.

Strettle very good I thought. Barrit and Tuilagi is far too one dimensional. Whislt Barrit was a rock in defence he is too one dimensional in attack to play without a creative player either inside or outside him.

I thought foden was easily our best player, three try saving tackles, solid under the high ball and didn't put a foot wrong. Very impressed with defensive play of the wings. Ashton and Strettles tackling were great.

Changes I'd make would be to start Dickson and Morgan, thought Youngs played with no confidence and very uncertain. Dowson bit unfair to judge, he's not a no8 so to play there at this level was v tough. Interesting how well Croft did when Morgan came on.

Thought Corbs had his best game for England.

Do have a few concerns, not enough people who can get over the gain line and lack of ability to get our backthree involved. Solid debut by Farrell, didn't do anything spectacular but he's not that sort of player.

Be good to be get Lawes and Tuilagi back - will Wood have to settle for a place on the bench?

Thought hodgson poor but a win is a win. The game was a shi4t off as predicted. Dowson so bad Morgan looked great. Barrit great defensively as expected. Robshaw ok. Cole penalty machine and Botha ineffective. Denton great and Dickson must start as youngs dreadful.

As predicted sharples should have been bench as we had players out of position when brown came on.

We were better than expected. First win there since 2004 so a result. Dowson got murdered and our defensive line was so slow no press. Palmer corbs and Ashton good

Palmer, Dowson & Ashton poor. Youngs & Robshaw ok. Thought Botha did well apart from carrying.

Morgan has to start. I only remember Farrell was playing when he goal kicked. Corbs played very well as did Barritt & Strettle. Foden steady as always. Good win, decent performance.

I agree that Morgan has to start, you only had to see from the time he had on the pitch yesterday that he is a good ball carrier and very dynamic. A win is a win, but there is room for improvement.

I thought Botha and Palmer were alright and wouldn't change them for Italy.

Lancaster has two options v Italians. He gives the other guys a go and see how it works or he plays what he see's as his strongest side again. I'd prefer the latter but the curiousness inside me is wanting to have a look at Morgan, Dickson etc.

I was impressed with Robshaw. If he can somehow make himself more dynamic then it would be very useful to us.

Our defence yesterday was good but the missed tackles need to be sorted out. Lineout did okay against a very handy lineout. Won 9 lost 2. Not ideal but no need to bring in Parling/Robson etc just to halt that.

Wouldn't look at changing flankers until Wood is fit and then I would still like him to try and fit in with Croft and Robshaw.

Wouldn't have said Ashton or palmer were poor - Ashton's defence was excellent, the back three were all superb there. Nothing went wide from Barritt for either wing to attack. Palmer put in a good stint, he was very good at organising the whole pack. Botha can tackle a lot and works hard but not sure what else he offers as there are a lot of locks that can do that.

Youngs should start on the bench next week, looked far better when Dickson came on - they have to get Youngs back on form, as he's lost his spark and England need that. Think impact bench could be his best bet as Dickson far better with tempo.

Impressed by Robshaws leadership, wonder if they will move him to no6 when Wood returns?

Stephen Jones gave Dowson an 8 out of 10 today.

Think it's a bit harsh to judge him as a no8 though when he isn't a no8 for his club. He's got a high work rate, but need more than that at international level. Saw the difference Morgan made when he came on, think first touch of the ball he made 10 yards.

Thing that worries me is how crap Scotland are at attacking, yet the number of tackles the team misses

Defense was shocking from England without a second though. There was a poor line speed Max Evans looked world class with the time he was given on the ball , if Ruidh Jackson was at 10 Scotland would of beat us yesterday as Parks gives them zero patterns in attack and wasted 4 or 5 overlaps.

I thought Barritt was fantastic at 13 , won plenty of turn overs (for a centre) and offered a lot more in attack as a wide play maker think he'd be a great 12 to have inside Tuilagi.

I don't see how Denton was man of match though? He made a few carries and that was it.

Thought Botha was ok and Ashton offered a lot in the kick chase and made a few decent tackles to break up some plays but got pulled in a bit too much as England's fringe defense was shiote.

Picimoles is player of the opening games for me so far.

Ashton was good but Dicksons service made us look so much better. Whilst I think youngs is our long term option i would give him some time off he was out of his depth yesterday and is scratching around for form.

Mentally he looks shot

Who would you have instead though Steven? Tuilagi's distribution isn't great but think he offers so, so much more in attack than Baritt and is a game changer. I don't want an England team built around defence, As you will always lose more than you win that way against te best teams.

Floods going to have to do something well to dislodge Hodgson next week, thought he had a good game, really manned up in defence and the charge down try was just reward for all his effort.

Any changes for next week? I'd have Morgan and Dickson start, with Sharplea on the bench, or someone who can play all back three positions. Be good when Lawes, Wood and Tuilagi are back.
