15. Delon Armitage*; 14. Topsy Ojo*; 13. Jonathan Spratt*; 12. Shontayne Hape*; 11. Adam Thompstone; 10. Adrian Jarvis; 9. Paul Hodgson*; 1. Alex Corbisiero*; 2. James Buckland; 3. Leo Halavatau; 4. James Sandford; 5. Bob Casey* (Captain); 6. Matt Garvey; 7. David Sisi; 8. Alex Gray

Major change is no Ross Rennie - he isn't even injured and he's dropped completely! Crazy decision for me as he's been on fire for us recently - his turnover last week directly led to a try.
Looking forward to it!!

Re: Edinburgh V London Irish
Wow! What an amazing game! That debatable forward pass nearly ruined the 4 try bonus point but Edinburgh shrugged it off and went over the white wash again!! Real character in their performance, especially the way they defended in 2nd half! I also loved the commentary, really had me on the edge of my seat and it was also pretty intense with the updates from the blues game.

Great win for Edinburgh. Laidlaw was immense. he must play for Scotland. Didn't put a foot wrong in attack, lovely ball skills and made 9 tackles including a couple of big forwards felled.
Grant made a load of tackles and was in there after the ball -= played well. good stuff from Thompson as well.
In fact great team performance
When is Talei Scotland qualified? :-)

TJ,
agreed Roddy Grant and Laidlaw were terrific but Talei was really immense. That Hape guy is a total fud. He and that Fitzgibbon idiot have no place on a rugby field. Nothing wrong with Lee Jones try right in front of the cretinous clown. Absolutely unbelievably, bad referee.
Well done the Gunners a great win.

RDW,
can we get invited through to M'field for the quarters v Toulouse. Promise we will bring a big crowd from the West and really "make some noise"

I think we should have a Scottish 606 get together. Lets book some time off from the significant others and cheer on the burgh!

Re: Edinburgh V London Irish
Marvellous result, would love to say I enjoyed it but managed lose my voice shouting at the TV.
Where to start:
1. Fantastic effort dealing with those late withdrawals. McInally and Thompson came in late and put in sterling shifts.
2. Grant covered very nicely for Rennie. Some great steals and a tireless work ethic.
3. Talei was a legend. Wonderful ball carrying effort and a clear MOTM performance, some great lineout work as well. Like every good number 8, seemed to be everywhere.
4. Front row were tireless, knock-on aside Cross was superb, and Ford and Jacobsen put in some great stuff.
5. Laidlaw must surely start for Scotland now. 100% kicking record - tricky kicks as well - and he worked the inside channels to create space beautifully. Seems to bring the best out of Blair as well, whose service was much better than I've seen for some time. Nice kicking game when needed as well.
6. Lee Jones was much more involved than I've seen previously and his took his chances. I don't know if Max Evans played for Castres against the Scarlets, but if not then Lee Jones could well feature.
Very excited about the QF!! Will be a fantastic occasion for Scottish rugby, and a great learning experience for some of our top young talent.

Re: Edinburgh V London Irish
Absolutely. We beat Racing Metro home and away. Toulouse are a step up, but Edinburgh showed today that they've been working on their close defence. They withstood quite a battering at the start of the 2nd half and didn't concede a single point. That sort of spirit will trouble Toulouse, who will have to travel well. Fingers crossed the Edinburgh front row survive the 6 Nations intact. Such a key part of the side, all of them carry and work their socks off.
Will have to travel to Thomond or Ravenhill in the SF. Shouldn't cause us any trouble

Re: Edinburgh V London Irish
Well now the excitement is over, back to the game! The team were absolutely superb - it hasnt really been mentioned but we absolutely smashed an AP team here! Yes they had nothing to play for but still!
The forwards were superb and were so aggressive at the breakdown to make sure we got quick ball, allowing the backs to score.
Much better set piece too with the scrum standing up well and we even managed to steal a few lineouts! Cross was superb, as was talei - both were heroic in their carrying.
And what more can be said about Laidlaw? He kicks just as well as parks and weir bit can actually bring players into the game and put people into space - he's got to start for Scotland! Strong in defence too - I was standing behind the posts and Irish did a move were Hape (a big lump) was running at full pelt for a crash ball - Laidlaw got in the way and chopped him down! Was a frightening collision even from where I was standing but he manned up and did it.

+1
Quite an achievement for Edinburgh to hand out such a Mauling to a top class AP team! Toulouse will be tougher but nothing to fear. We can beat them too, especially with Murrayfield hopefully crammed to the rafters!

Re: Edinburgh V London Irish
Agreed on Laidlaw's defence, and Blair scrambled well on a couple of occassions as well.
Makes you wonder why Edinburgh's defence has been such a mess this season. Hopefully from now on they can close the door.
They were unlucky on the try they conceded. It was a poor decision from the ref to award the quick tap on the scrum we had in their 22, and from then on we were always struggling. Joseph made a big impact for Irish - I'm pleased he didn't start.
