Give Those Champions A Chair
My lasting memory of this years AO final between Djokovic and Nadal will be one from the trophy ceremony. Both had to stand whilst various sponsors delivered their well rehearsed but in the circumstances extemely long speeches. Both players appeared to find it very difficult to stand. No wonder! Both were grimacing and stretching and shaking limbs... presumably to prevent cramp. Djokovic ended up crouched on the floor whilst Nadal perched precariously on the tennis net.
Thank goodness someone noticed and put an end to their discomfort. They brought the two great champions a chair.

they got to take it, because those sponsors make sure they get the seven figure pay days they both deserve.

Yeah in that kind of situation if you suddenly stop after a load of exercise your legs can seize up..or maybe it was just general fatigue. I think some of the speakers missed an opportunity to be honest. If the person from Kia had stopped his planned speech to say "hey, do you guys want someone to bring you a chair" or "someone bring these guys a chair!" it might have got down well. Although maybe the players were behind the speakers so they didn't see.

Corporate stiffs are never good at on spot observation. What a great visual though. Both guys caving in physically as the corporate types continue with their innane chatter, just sign the check mr. Kia and get lost.

At last a thread that recognises the actual game we saw . Two great players, a titanic match. They deserve any plaudits that they get

Well to be fair the sponsors had to sit through nearly six hours of tennis. I think they were just getting their own back.

No one seemed to care for Pascal Maria, who actually brought water for both Djokovic and Nadal.
Granted he did not play six hours of gruelling Tennis, though.

How can he sit in the umpire's chair for almost 6 hours (more if you include the warm-up) and not need to go for a pee?

I have seen umpire's sneak out during a player break.
Think of Lahayani during the Isner-Mahut W match?
