OK, I give up.
Some of you may remember I gave up forums and dirt sites for what I thought would be a month. A week later and I really miss reading the posts on here.
Also, I can say with absolute certainty, to me at least, it made no difference whatsoever. Back to my spoilers it is then

Impossible isn't it, I tend to keep away spoilers until I watch the shows, and I always try to stay away from things like "major star signed by WWE" or what ever the headline may be.

I know what you mean, but isn't it like the itch that you can't help but scratch?

Yea true, I manage to always keep away from the smackdown spoilers tho untill I watch it on a friday night.
In away it has ruined the overall enjoyment of wrestling in general but thats just a sign of the times and the nature of how we live today we want it all now now now

Yes, the obvious example that comes to mind of the rise of technology is that I found out about Fernando Torres signing for Chelsea on Twitter, Shevchenko signing on Ceefax and Zola signing in the paper the next morning!
It is the way of the world wanting things now, it is why the transfer window exists and there seems to be more interest in that than the season itself.
Maybe the smark generation is the the wrestling equivalent of this transfer window fan... more interested in what is going on behind the scenes than what is happening when the bell rings.

I think it was Chris Jericho who said being a true fan in 2011 is totally different to the 80s and 90s and thats a bad thing, I'm inclined to agree with him on that one.

I think it ties in with the rise of people's interest in meaningless celeb gossip and whats really going on which the media has had a massive part to play in. Me personally, I cant see the fascination in wanting to find out who's slept with who etc etc wheather it'll be sport or a movie set, but even tho its the same "rule" in the wrestling business, the difference is I am fascinated. Unexplainable I know!

Re: OK, I give up.
I hardly watch wrestling anymore - my interest is spiked during the road to wrestlemania and peaks at Mania. Then it rapidly goes down hill unless something extraordinary happens like at MITB this year. But I read spoilers occassionally to see whether or not its worth watching the show as generally I am so busy I don't want to waste my time if the product is poor.

That is the benefit of watching online (if you have a good computer) because you can just skip the bits that you don't like and watch at your leisure whether that is Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday...
