British Dream Team Empty British Dream Team

Post by Guest Sun 20 Mar 2011, 4:43 pm

In a similar way to the Premier League one, except it's the countries of the UK and I'll include Republic of Ireland. Two players have to come from each country, and whichever country you decide can have three. Must play a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2.

Here's mine to kick things off:

GK - Craig Gordon - Scotland
RB - Seamus Coleman - Republic of Ireland
CB - Johnny Evans - Northern Ireland
CB - Aaron Hughes - Northern Ireland
LB - Ashley Cole - England

RM - Theo Walcott - England
CM - Aaron Ramsey - Wales
CM - Charlie Adam - Scotland
LM - Gareth Bale - Wales

ST - Kevin Doyle - Republic of Ireland
ST - Wayne Rooney - England

Shay Given and Steven Hunt aren't British, they're Irish.

Didn't read the top posts, I was taken straight to the last post

Hart - England

Whittaker - Scotland
JT - England
Bale - Wales

Lennon - England
Ramsey - Wales
Brown - Scotland
Lampard - England
Commons - Scotland

Doyle - ROI
Keane - ROI

It was hard enough, I'm not choosing Northern Ireland players because no "Dream Team" will ever include them.

Don't mean to be a pedant but don't call it a British team if it contains British and Irish players. You could call it the "soccer Lions"

Given-ROI

Johnson-England
Cathcart-NI
Evans-NI
Bale-Wales

Coleman-ROI
McCarthy-ROI
Ramsey-Wales
Adam-Scotland

Doyle-ROI
Bent-England

Give Mr Blotter another four years and a British team could be a reality.

Its not going to happen if people like Neville Southhall is about

"The whole point of going to the Olympics is that special moment when your flag goes up," said Southall.

"What flag are they going to put up if they win it? [The] Union Jack? It's not my flag. My flag's a Dragon.

Er no your British, therefore it is your flag, deal with it!

Unfortunately Ex-Scotland boss Craig Brown isn't happy and won't allow any Scottish players to play for and be included in any such United British Football
Team.

I think Boyne's point is that if it is a British and Irish Dream team, why doesn't say it in the title? It annoys me too to be frank.

the guy said you can use ROI players it doesn't need to be in title to do so, it's the OP choice what title he uses.
what's so annoying about it then?

I know it says it in the opening post but would it have been so difficult to put it in the title? Annoy was probably a bit strong,it's just irritating that we were deemd part of Britain when we're not.

I'm taking too much out of it. I'm making a mountain out of a molehill.

Well call it a British Isles Dream Team then if you insist on being a pedant.
