Simon's Mock Draft v1 Empty Simon's Mock Draft v1

Will do a more in depth one next week with reasons why I have picked them there. In my mock I am going to predict a trade because I think the Rams feel that the Redskins will take Julio Jones with the 10th pick and the Rams have to get him to improve as a team

1) Carolina Panthers- Blaine Gabbert- QB
2) Denver Broncos - Marcel Dareus- DT
3) Buffalo Bills- Patrick Peterson-CB
4) Cincinatti Bengals- AJ Green-WR
5) Arizona Cardinals- Von Miller- OLB
6) Cleveland Browns- Nick Fairley-DT
7) San Fransico 49ers - DeQuan Bowers-DE
8) Tennesse Titans- Robert Quinn-DE/OLB
9) Dallas Cowboys- Prince Amankamura-CB
10) St Louis Rams- Julio Jones-WR
11) Houston Texans- Cameron Jordan-DE/DT
12) Minnesota Vikings- JJ Watt-DE
13) Detroit Lions- Tyron Smith- OT
14) Washington Redskins- Jake Locker- QB
15) Miami Dolphins- Mark Ingram- RB ( only because Williams and Brown are FA. If Brown resigns this will be an O-Line player, most likely Pouncey)
16) Jacksonville Jaguars- Ryan Kerrigan- DE
17) NE Patriots- Anthony Costanzo- OT
18) San Diego Chargers- Cameron Heyward-DE
19) New York Giants- Akeem Ayers- DE/OLB
20) Tampa Bay Bucaneers - Adrian Clayborn- DE ( Huge Charachter issues but Tampa Bay are desperate)
21) Kansas Chiefs- Phil Taylor- NT
22) Indianapollis Colts- Nate Solder- OT
23) Philidelphia Eagles- Gabe Carimi- OT
24) New Orleans Saints- Cory Luiget- DT
25) Seattle Sehwaks- Brandon Harris- CB
26) Baltimore Ravens- Derek Sherrod- OT
27) Atlanta Falcons- Torry Smith- WR
28) NE Patriots- Muhammad Wilkerson- DE/DT
29) Chicago Bears- Mike Pouncey- G
30) New York Jets- Brooks Reed- OLB
31) Pittsburgh Steelers- Martez Wilson- ILB ( could very easily be Ras-I-Dowling)
32) Green Bay Packers- Jonathan Baldwin- WR

A couple of things:

Blaine Gabbart had an immense pro day whereas Cam Newton. Gabbert is more of a project but that wont matter because of the new rookie pay scale coming in. A lot of people will hate the Locker pick, but this class is very deep on the defensive side of the ball. I accept they could wait for Ponder or Mallet but IMO Ponder is overhyped and Mallet is a clown who wont succeed in the NFL so Locker is the better pick. I would rather have a guy who is physically slightly inferior and who has a great work ethic ( Locker) than one who has all the physical tools but has bad charachter flaws ( Mallet)

I can see the Vikes trading down from 12 to pick up Locker later on, there's not really much value taking him where they are right now.

Dowling won't make it into the first round, he got injured running his 40 at the combine, imagine what he'll be like after getting hit by Willis McGahee in the reg season...

Yeah I can see the Vikes trying to get Locker but think the redskins will be too keen to get. Him.

Made 2 oversights as well. Cam Newton will go to the Bills with Peterson dropping to San Francisco. DeQuan Bowers dropping to Tennesse

Love the total elimination of Cam Newton (Vince Young V2)... unfortunately it won't happen and somebody will pick him early!

I don't think Dolphins will get Ingram. They badly want a second round pick and I think they will trade down. If pouncey is still there they will take him late first round and pick up a RB in the second round by which time Ingram will be gone.

Yh I know crazy dave completly forgot somehow but have him in at 3 now, Peterson at 7 and Bowers at 8

Aqua Arab, that is a very good thought and one I hadn't thought of. Only thing is after Ingram, I don't feel the running back class is strong and maybe the Dolphins will think this and stick at 15

I feel there are a few good running back this year and would be happy if the Dolphins picked up somebody like Ryan Williams from virginia Tech in the second round.

I don't rate ryan williams. Think mikel leshoure will go ahead of him. Of the last 4 years, I think this running back class has been the weakest

LeShoure should be gone at the top of the second round, I doubt he'll be available to the Dolphins when they're on the board.

I can't see Leshore being there for us in the second round either so think Williams will be our best shot at a second round running back if we do decide to trade down. Which I believe would be the sensible option for us.

I'm feeling another mock bubbling up... Might kick it out later today or tomorrow. We have to get some traffic on here but there's nothing bloomin going on with the lockout!
