I'll be honest: I started reading it with interest and after a paragraph my eyes started glazing over.

This looks like a descriptive and not an argumentative essay.

Most serious tennis fans already know the facts, have their opinions more or less formed and want to hear something new.

You've got to grab our attention with the first two paragraphs . Say something bold and challenge the readers in your opening paragraph.

Follow with pros and cons, ideally concluding with an open dilemma style question.

That's how I'd do it.

Tennis is not hugely popular here and people either love it or couldn't care less.
those who love it know a lot, so you have to be prepared to be a step ahead. good luck !

Also, in my opinion, passion is an absolute must the madder the better!

I got a job at the uni paper and a work shadow set up so its promising there! The thing is, hence my name luvsports! is that I love footy, rugby, cricket, cycling and tennis so I dont want to just major in one atm i love the diversity.

i liked the piece thought i dont agree with it. dont be bothered about criticisms about length. if an article is of interest it will be read. JK Rowling's books are 600 pages long, yet they get read.

Mens player, IIRC, I could not name the Brazilians or the US on the Women's side. Just a personal preference.
