anyway back to teh video, yes i agree thta what makes it soo gr8, socialism worksin small area but not on a nationwide scale.

These type of rules work in the 'closed shop' sports in North America were you have a limited number of teams and no promotion or relegation.
I don't think they will work in the European free market football system though and wonder why Michel Platini doesn't realize this. His FFP rules are anything but fair. All they do if favour the current rich clubs and stop smaller clubs from being competitive.
Imagine a free market system in the NFL though were the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins could buy the top players...? It would be interesting to see what the 'transfer fees' would be?

Mike - that's almost what was in place before the salary cap etc. Hence there used to be far more trades than nowadays. Funnily enough, the market didn't seem to impact the best teams back then - Steelers won 4 SB's and Packers won 2 despite being 'poor' teams.
There have been a few articles about the NFL system complaining how un-American it is. Funny then that's its proving to be one of the most successful pro sports models in the world...
