Michael yardy
So Michael Yardy has returned home from the world cup with depression. That is quite a huge blow to our chances i think, but i have to say i hope he recovers from this depression he is suffering with, and we see him back in an england shirt soon.

Re: Michael yardy
I don't get how it's a blow to England's chances. He was bought in primarily to reduce runs per over and has turned out to be one of the team's most expensive bowlers. He also did next to nothing with the bat.
I'd much rather have Bopara, Tredwell or Wright in the team than Yardy.

Re: Michael yardy
Don't think it reduces our chances that much, but that's now four of the original squad who've had to fly home, so not great by any means.
Anyway, all the best to Mike Yardy, get well soon.

Re: Michael yardy
ok maybe he isnt that a big a blow to our chances, especially with rashid being called up.

The wider lessons?
I see Boycott's under fire for comments he's made about the situation.
This rising toll of injuries and withdrawals simply serves to underline the overload of fixtures.
Far too many T20 domestic fixtures and the public get bored. Far too many international fixtures and the bodies and minds of the players protest under the strain. Who can blame Pieterson if he decided to take the opportunity to leave the tour rather than to play on and on and on through the pain barrier.
Anyway, let's hope Yardy is fully recovered for the start of the new season, which is almost upon us.....

Agreed about the volume of fixtures. Nine ODIs against Australia after a five-test Ashes tour? What a joke...

Re: Michael yardy
Rashid will do well, shame about Yardy, he did well at points in this tourney, shame as it looks liek we've got another Tresco situation.

Re: Michael yardy
As said above, just shows that the players are struggling to cope with the overload in fixtures. It's ridiculous and the ECB are right to be lessening the amount of cricket being played.
