Round #2 GM Mock draft
Round #2 is now open, please note the positions for all teams are not the same as round #1
There will be a Clock for this round a 6 hour window for each pick, this will get turned off at 23.00 each night and on again at 07.30 the following Morning.
I would also note as well that if you are going to be away and its nearly your pick i.e you are 4 picks away then you can mail me, Derby Blue or PR4WN your pick, it's advisable to send a board of 4 players if you are 4 picks away, that way if the 3 teams in front of you take your 1st 3 selections, then you will have a 4th.
If you dont have time to look at draft sites then you can ask for the Best Player available in ranking, which I will use from Draft Tek, or if you like you can ask for the BPA at a specific position i.e you want the highest ranked CB with your pick rather than the BPA which could be a QB and you dont need a QB in your side.

Re: Round #2 GM Mock draft
Is this the correct order? I was looking at this site's mock: http://www.draftsite.com/nfl/mock-draft/2012/round2 and it has a slightly different order (it may be due to the coin flip thing)

Given that I know some members can't access the site at work and we can get through picks quickly if we're all online, I think 5 hours might be a little too short a time.Leedscowboys wrote:There will be a Clock for this round a 5 hour period for each pick, this will get turned off at 23.00 each night and on again at 07.30 the following Morning.
I agree though mail all 3 of Me, Leeds and Pr4wn if you want to just in case the one you PM isn't online to make the pick.

I agree with Derby, 5 hours seems a bit too short and I'm not even one of the people who can't access the site at work. We do have plenty of time till the draft so I don't necessarily think we need a clock at all

Slightly confused by exactly what is going on with that trade.
Am I right that it's
Dallas gets: #73, #111, #118 and #173 (@ 225 + 72 + 58 + 22.2 = 377.2)
Chicago gets: #45 (@ 450pts)
My only concern is, despite the fact the trade value is balance in the opposite way that its a trade between your own teams which gives your main team Dallas a bundle of picks.
I'm not trying to flag it up as an "issue" more to raise awareness and check the majority are okay with it... how does it leave the Bears draft in terms of remaining picks?

Re: Round #2 GM Mock draft
I was adding up the trade values earlier too and did think it didn't make sense, just hadn't spotted that Leedscowboys had both teams. Personally I would rather that GMs with 2 teams (including myself) didn't make trades between those 2 teams, just to prevent a situation like this. Not meaning to accuse you of any foul play Leedscowboys, just my take on it

Cowboys get a lot of picks later, but the Bears have three of the top 50 so I don't have a problem with it. Probably a good idea for people not to trade with themselves from here on out though.

Re: Round #2 GM Mock draft
More queries as I'm finally getting round to creating some form of proper draft board for my picks etc.
In fact I now have the full 7 round draft order complete with all our trades in excel form on the Draftek basis (pre-coin flip - which is how we started) if it is of use.
------------------------
The Atlanta and Tampa (via Detroit) picks at numbers 54 and 55 are the wrong way round.
On draftek which I think is where your basic list is coming from they have Detroit ahead of Atlanta. http://www.drafttek.com/CMDRound2_49-64.asp
Then there is some stuff caused by the voided Raiders pick in Rd 3 (Tyrelle Pryor) which would ordinarily have been pick 81 (Rd 3, #15 I think) such that round 3 only has 31 picks not 32
- Rd 3 the Detroit pick that was involved in the trade up with Tampa is number 86 not number 87.
- Packers\Steelers deal is correct
- Washington get pick #93 from San Fran, not #94
- Cincinnati get #94 from NE, not #95
- Philly get #103 from Carolina, not #105
- Minnesota doesn't have a 6th round pick this year to send to Seattle as it went to Washington for McNabb. The original trade made by Cherries specified a 2012 pick which we subsequently prevented from future trading
-------------------------
Also what are we doing regarding the compensatory picks that will appear from the end of round 3

Re: Round #2 GM Mock draft
at first it does not appear to be a fair trade for Dallas, I think there is 30/40 point difference but it will allow Dallas to address needs. I made the trade thinking Sanu was still not drafted, didn't realise till done that he had gone, hence the hour delay in anniuncing the trade and picking the pick. For the Bears to make 2 2nd rounders it would not have left them too much in the later rounds so i tried to be fair to both sides, letting the Bears keep their 5th rounder.
Comp picks will be added from round # 3 as in reallife they will be picked at the end of the round, I know Dallas will have an extra 4th rounder

Re: Round #2 GM Mock draft
No disrespect to Draftek but I they've got the draft order wrong for the later rounds. They've forgotten that teams in the same record bracket switch around picks as the draft moves on. Miami, Carolina and Buffalo all finished 6-10 and therefore after the 1st round all switch around places. Draftek only switch around Miami and Carolina, I assume cos they think strength of schedule still applies in the later rounds but unless there has been a very recent rule change, it doesn't. The pick Philly gets from Carolina in the 4th round is therefore the 104th pick. I forgot about the Terelle Pryor issue when offering Bambamwillis the trade but I'd defo stake a lot of cash on me having at least got the order that Miami,Carolina and Buffalo are picking in in that round.

They still don't switch Buffalo stoic with Miami and Carolina though and irrespective of the starting order they should have done. Anyway, that one prob doesn't matter to our draft since Bambamwillis is going to get a better deal than he thought regardless. Just didn'twant him thinking I was diddling him!!

Anyway, that one prob doesn't matter to our draft since Bambamwillis is going to get a better deal than he thought regardless. Just didn'twant him thinking I was diddling him!!
Don't worry about that mate I think I got a good deal! To be honest I never would have noticed so no harm done

bit of a reach there, he has 3rd/4th round tag, but has good upside

Damn, he was my dark horse for the Packers pick. Loved watching him at Boise who I watched a fair bit the past two years.
The 4th Round Denver pick is at #120 as well for your info

Ok thanks, I just wasn't sure with the supplemental picks and all that. I love Doug Martin, I was going to trade up to the titans pick to get in front of the Bengals but thunder had the chargers pick too and it cost the same to get the chargers pick. The Broncos need a young RB to take the load off of McGahee, Martin reminds me of MJD and I think he'll be very good.
