How long will WWE last?
Been meaning to ask this for a while but never got around to it
How long do you reckon it will be before WWE closes its doors for the last time?
Lets face it nothing lasts forever and I can hardly see WrestleMania CCXXVII happening
What do you think will bring it to an end?
Difficult questions I know but could prove interesting answers

I'm pretty sure no-one though "american" football would last as long as it has... so who knows!

Re: How long will WWE last?
The 606v2 Wrestling Federation will be the death of the WWE. Once we get our act together the whole wrestling world will fall before us.
In all seriousness I think the WWE will be around for years to come, provided it's a smooth transition from Vince McMahon running the show to Triple H and Stephanie being in charge. That's pretty much the only obstacle I can see in the WWE's way in the forseeable future - how things are run without Vincent Kennedy McMahon at the helm.

Nothing lasts forever?
Every single thing that is still running, or on TV at the moment has lasted forever so far. Eastenders, Coronation Street, The FA Cup, The World Cup, Eggheads, The Only Way is Essex....Millions of things!

Miky - You're completely right, the 606v2WF is money
In fact, just by talking about it here we're already the number 2 wrestling company in the world!

Re: How long will WWE last?
I am not sure if the WWE in its current Vince McMahon style will remain around for more than the next five years or so. After that I think that a different style could pervail. The problem though is that wrestling seems to be fairly low on the current priority list for the company so they will continue to run out the same tosh while PPV rates remain as they are.
They will (and currently are) running into the problem of how to adequately get over the stars of tomorrow when the stars of today are rapidly retiring. It is a problem of the career wrestlers like Batista who do it and then move on to the next challenge in life. He didn't stay around long enough in the latter part of his career for his star to be the mover for a younger man to reach main event status.
Btw, I am not bagging on Big Dave per se, just a general culture in the WWE.
Another example was the last two WrestleManias... with Shawn Michaels on his way out he could have fought up and comers and got them over and into the big time, instead he had two clashes with the Undertaker that helped no-one and nothing in the future. It is the same problem I have with HHH v Taker this time, it is not like there is a long term story / dramatic twist in it to give it value to the schedule, it is just two older guys indulging themselves and their reputations instead of giving something back.

Re: How long will WWE last?
To be honest I can't either but let's say 100 years from now, are we gonna be looking at some wrestler look to the WrestleMania sign above the crowd? (obviously not us as we'll most likely not be around anymore)the-gaffer wrote:KL I really cant fathom a day or a reason that the WWE will ceast to exsist
I don't know why but I just find it really difficult to see that happening

I don't agree with this at all - Wrestlemania is the biggest event of the year - i want to see mega matches - say last 2 years we didnt have Taker vs HBK but had Taker vs Jack Swagger and HBK vs Dolph Ziggler or vice versa - just would not appeal to me in the slightest
Throughout the year Yes but at Wrestlemania no

See I would say it is the quality of the matches and build up that is important. They could have built up a great rivalry and with the quality of Michaels' matches had a phenomenal main event and new superstar as well.

Well I was thinking that once we're up and running we'll raid WWE for John Cena and the Rock and then you'll beat the pair of them in a triple threat match on the grandest stage of them all 'WrestleJamboree'

Ok I'd like to ask this again with hopefully some more serious answers this time
I feel it's worth asking again due to the WWE name change and the list of terms list that was leaked
