How will England score tries?
First topic message reminder :
With Jones' try Scotland overtook England try scoring wise, both of England's from charge downs, so I shall ask the patronising question: How will England score tries in open play?

Yeah I just find it hard to be optimistic that as and England fan my aspirations for this tournament should be that its not quite as much of a car crash as it could have been.
Normaly we save this for the summer tours.

shrug. Well, it's where we are. And with Tuilagi and Farrell both 20 and looking very promising the windward horizon is not entirely dark. Cole's coming on well - not his fault Jonesy got away with binding on the arm all afternoon and his work in the loose was another area England are improving on - rewatching the game he was there working for the ball often and with some success. His discipline is vastly improved too.
I think what is impressing me most is the speed of improvement. It really is game on game at the moment. For years we've looked for it and it just hasn't happened. Now it is. maybe it'll all go wrong - no guarantees in sport and all that - but the journey is a lot of fun, it seems to me.

The speed of improvement from the first australia tour test to the second one was much greater, although England did start from a pretty bleak place in the Scotland game to be fair. A significant increase still leaves the team as pretty poor.
Cole being good is nothing new, hes one of the more well established players in the side. The scrum wasnt at its best in this game, previously one of englands few bright points. The midlfield did look more creative,m but still unable to score or utilise Ashton. If Lancaster can get some of the reputation players ( Flood, Lawes, Youngs, Ashton) back to their best it could be a much better side if that coup0led with some organisation in attack.
Theres been a lot of false dawns for England over the last few years, and a lot of wonderkids whove faded and disappeared. Im refusing to be convinced by this lot untill they beat a good side.
