Deano to the Falcons
The RUGBY Paper says that Deano will be heading to the Falcons once his ban is up.
Good move for both parties IMO.

I've heard that before. Rumours are that's why Wells went there so that they can work together again. Expect a mean set of forwards with those two on the staff.

I take it you're happy with that?
I was kind of hoping he'd come to Bath, better than the Robo rumours I've heard.

I will be very very pleased if this happens, but I'll wait until it is all signed sealed and delivered.
If it does happen, player will hopefully be attracted to come (and stay!) at the club and foundations can really be laid for the long term.

Re: Deano to the Falcons
Deano is a fine coach. He lost his job at Leicester because he wanted to extend his power at Welford Road in similar circumstances to SCW at HQ. i.e. a power struggle lost.
Forget bloodgate - that was an (albeit premeditated) aberration.
You won't find a more centred, focussed man in the game.
I wish the Geordies and Deano only the best. Both deserve better...

His tactics and man management behind the scene with the Tigers senior players didn't go down to well. For instance Austin is scathing in his autobiography of the contract renewal process under Deano and blames him for Tigers losing a couple of good players. That was a long time ago and judging by the success at Quins I'm guessing something he thought about but his release by Leicester was more than a power struggle.

I agree I think he coached badly at Leicester.
However he was learning his trade and improved Quins a lot, controversy aside.
He will be an asset to Falcons

Is this just hear say or is it set in stone?

Deano was such a terrible coach that he led the Tigers to back-to-back HECs.

He worked well with what he had in terms of tactics but the off the field stuff was what lost him his job he was apparently very inflexible. Same with Loffreda. At Tigers you need to get on with the senior players as generally they are the heart of the club and without their backing you are screwed.
He will do good things at Newcastle and they will be a Saints style success story if he signs for them.

Don't be so sure Geordie. Cornish Pirates are showing a bit of form at the moment - not the best way to stay up but I'm sure you & all the other Falcons fans won't care in the slightest!!

F##@*ng ecstatic hearing that.
It'll not happen though.

He wasn't bothered by Quins being in the Championship and look at how we went once we were back up.
Sometimes that parachute payment+lots of winning/bonding/try scoring can be perfect for a team, but you must bounce straight up the next season, then you get another tasty payment...
look at Quins, Saints, Exeter and now even Worcester.
He would be quality for Falcons if you got him, if not you then Bath or Glos would be good.

Why Glaws? We're not underperforming and Brush & Hogg are doing a great job!
I do have very mixed feelings about Deano. There is no doubting he is an excellent coach and I do feel the 3 year ban was excessive, but you just can't condone his conduct leading up to his ban, coupled with the cheating in the first place. Would I want him at Glaws? I'm not sure I would...

Re: Deano to the Falcons
HKC, I was thinking of him as more of a fowards coach for you guys. Yes your packs good but it's still probably your achilles heel too. Deano could do a lot of good.

Our pack is very underated, which does work in our favour. John Brain was appointed scrum coach in the summer and its no coincidence that our scrum has been a real weapon this season. The only area our packs fails is with ball carriers with Qera the only obvious carrier. Tom Savage is becoming a threat, but we do need more - which hopefully the soon to be announced capture of Ben Morgan will rectify!!
We should be signing either Sione Kalamafoni or Semisi Taulava which should provide even further oomph.

The new hooker Edmonds should give you some more go forward in the carrying stakes as well HKC.

Aww man. I would've liked him to come to the Ospreys. He's the ideal man that we need to crack some heads together.

DEANO FOR ENGLAND NOW!
if not then really who apart from Lancaster has put their hand up? And yes I do think it has to be an ENGLISHMAN.
This caps button is a bit of a bore......
Did either of Booth or Diamond apply?

He's probably seen our (Wasps) latest injury crisis & fancies Falcons chance of staying up
