James Milner - England Captain?
According to a few reports, Milner is reportedly one of the favourites to lead England tomorrow night with Hart, Gerrard and Parker.
This has to be a joke? Milner can't even get a game for Man City, he's hardly the right person to lead England?!!?

Agree, GF.
His end product has always been poor, and something that has followed him his entire career.

I don't know why there is such a strong interest in who Pearce makes captain. It's a friendly.

I think it's because it sets a precedant.
After the John Terry scandal you would expect the FA and England to make a positive statement about who will lead the country.
Gerrard? Granted his a great footballer, but hardly has an unblemished past and not getting any younger. Arguments as to whether he would oust a fit Wilshere from the squad.
Parker? Again, not getting any younger. Hardly likely to feature at Brazil 2014, would be short term.
Regardless of who we are playing and why, this is a big chance for the people in power to bring some respect back to the armband.

Re: James Milner - England Captain?
Joe Hart has to be captain doesn't he?
He is young, one of the best players in his position and will almost certainly play every game and every minute of every game.
Some people may suggest a captain should be an outfield player but Dino Zoff and current Spain captain Iker Casillas have both lifted trophies for their international sides.

Hart would be my choice, and most people's I would've thought.
I think his actions as a player are what make him the stand out candidate. He's never in the paper for the wrong reasons, he's never causing controversy an he's respected. As a keeper your the last line of defence and you have to command the respect and belief of the 10 players in front of you, which he definitely has.
