Re: Ellis coming back to Super League
Apparently all 14 clubs are in for him, which is hardly suprising. But you're right, he has said he's always wanted to play for Castleford, which is his home town club and the one he supported as a kid. Be a very good signing if they get him, or whoever else does.

Re: Ellis coming back to Super League
Without wanting to run Castleford down i dont think he would win anything with them , so i suppose it depends on what ambitions he has left either playing for his home town club or joining a team like St Helens or Wigan who would be challenging for trophies .
Of course there is also Warrington who seem to be able to fit alot of players into their salary cap .

I don't know, i can't remember what he's won in his career already. But i suppose that playing for your boyhood hero's would be a big draw.
Just a small point, but on the back of sunday's programme, Rovers had more players listed than Warrington, but then when you pay as much as Warrington do for there big names, they can't afford to have a big squad.

Re: Ellis coming back to Super League
As a Cas fan, would love to have him in our squad but one player doesn't make a team. We would need to sign some other quality to be able to match the ambitions that a player of his calibre would have.
On a plus side if we were to go for him this could cause us to cut quite a bit of deadwood from our ranks so as to be able to afford him. McGoldrick (best days gone), Hudson (surplus to requirements when we have Milner & Clark at 9), and Jones (good defence but no attack) spring to mind.

I dont think Warrington need him tbh, don't get me wrong he is an excellent player, but there are far too many second rowers as it is! With Westwood, Waterhouse, Harrison, Cooper, Solomona, Mcarthy, before you include other members of the youth team

I was thinking more of Ellis replacing Morley at the Wolves , hes big enough to play at prop and has the leadership qualities to take over from Morley

Any team in super league would have him and I would say most clubs in the nrl would have him too. Top player.

Re: Ellis coming back to Super League
Part of the conditions of his release is he doesnt sign for another NRL side , but your right all the Superleague clubs will want him .....i would love to see him at Hull KR but like ive said before it will depend on want hes looking for ...
either his home town club in Castleford
a team challenging for trophies ie Leeds Saints Wigan Warrington
or a last payday ... all the rest whoever is the highest bidder

Whoever signs him will be getting a terrific player for sure. I have a feeling he won't be going back to Leeds.
