FM12 update is released!
Didn't realise Steam kept track of how many hours you play it. Might lay off it for the next few weeks realising that since the beginning of the year, my hour tally is 299 hours.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
I've gotten back into Football Manager, always got them since 2005. But after 2009 which I loved stopped playing as much due to the change in format, and exams etc.
But with the spare time inbetween lectures, I've managed to take Bath City up to the Championship, it has taken me 120 hours

I haven't got this years but I did get Macc into the premier league, but then was lured to the Utd job and the following year Barca came calling.

See now 120 hours is much more of a modest amount.
Gonna go for a Southampton career I think with the new update. Plenty of goals to be had in a Lambert/Sharp partnership.

Lambert used to play for Macc as well as Jon Parkin, we breed em big round these parts (Peter Crouch was also born in Macc)

I want to be one of those people who starts off at a small club but I don't really have an affiliation to one. Torquay are my local side but I don't really like them.

I would think he can do well but why would leave a side like that in the first place?
Football career's are short unless your Giggs or Maldini
Southgate made a decent comment that David Silva is proving that you can find space in the PL and with Messi's ability, he would be great.
I don't think he would score as many goals but he certainly will be running teams ragged

Love to see him at the Brittania on a Wednesday night in January, he's past one, he's past two....oh and Ryan Shawcross has just broke him in half.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Lol. Reminds me of the Cameroon vs Argentina match at WC 1990 (Italia) when Caniggia went past 2 defenders, each getting a piece of him to make him stumble along with the ball, he was just getting his balance when a third totally cleaned him out. Hilarious to watch. The defender did the usual arms out wide, "what ref?" look. Classic.
Messi is a very solid bloke, like Maradona. Shawcross might just bounce off him.
As for who I want at the helm next season, I honestly don't know. I'd like Di Matteo to get the job if he is successful in re-uniting the squad and on the basis that if he was to be considered, we'd have done OK for the rest of this season but I assume we'll be looking for some bigger name.
I'm not one of those Chelsea fans who is anti-Benitez. I'm not too sure why they are other than his scraps with Jose. He's got a good track record including winning the CL. His time at Inter worries me since he was booted out very quickly due to players moaning. All too familiar.
Much as I love Jose, I don't think it would be good for either him or the club for him to return. More short termism imo.
I'd love Franco to come in an become as big a managerial legend at the club as he was a player.

Joachim Low I think would be a good shout but I'd be concerned on the usual short term results that Roman has.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
He has certainly done well with the German national side but so did Scolari with Brazil and Portugal (look how Portugal have declined since his departure). It is different managing a club side to a national side. Loew's record at club level is modest to say the least.
Mnd you, if signs the nucleus of the German national side for Chelsea....bring it on.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Pav - Messi's performances haven't actually dropped internationally but his goalscoring has.
Also if you being managed by the likes of Maradona who doesnt pick Cambiasso, Zanetti and Milito's for personal reasons and pick a 38 year ol in Palermo...you will struuggle slightly.
Crazy that we are judging his talent as we expect to score in every game.
The coming years of Argentina look decent with Messi, Aguero, Tevez, Higuain, Mascherano, Milito's, Cambiasso Banega, and even Colocinni is improving.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Not sure how much longer the Milito's will be on the scene. Diego is 32 now I think.
With Messi though, they said yesterday, he didn't score in the World Cup nor the Copa America. For someone of his standard, people would want a bit more from him at that level.
Not seen Argentina under Sabella. I know under Maradonna, Messi played behind Tevez and Higuain.

Re: Fantasy European League Homepage™
Pastore's form dropped earlier in the season but he's turning it round now under Ancelotti at PSG, think he'll be key with De Maria & Aguero. Gaitan and Lamela I'd like to see get some game time.
Issue for Argentina is for all their riches going forward they're lacking at the back.

Are you able to do some fancy mod thing to allow someone else to take over the Bayern + releases page.. or do we just create new ones?

Only 1 cap so far, but he's only 19 and obviously has a huge amount of competition for the national team, he moved over to Roma last summer and is getting regular games (over 20 so far).
