What's happening with Toby Booth, is he now head coach beneath Smith?

Yes.
Having previously held the role with the Exiles for three years between 2005 and 2008, the vastly experienced manager and coach will rejoin the Club to work with Toby Booth, who will remain Head Coach, to bolster the club's current set up. Smith joins the club immediately, as London Irish prepares for its St Patrick’s Party game in the Aviva Premiership against Leicester Tigers (25th March) and his contract will run until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Good for Irish to have him back and working with Booth. Just need to bring in a couple of classy players to supplement the bountiful talent coming through your academy and you'll be back on track.

Too late to retain Guy Armitage, but might this change Delon's decision?

Sounds like all the Armitage brothers will be in the south of France by the start of next season. I think Delon knows Homer will take his place sooner rather than later and that he is out of favour with England.

Was the first question I asked Delon's father after hearing the news. He's not got back to me yet.

Do you really want to keep Armitage?

Delon is a quality player, who if his head is right is as good a full back as any in the country.
Smith left Irish in 2008, and it was Delons form unde rhim which earned him his call up by England in autumn 2008. Perhaps Smith is the man to get the best out of him once again.

Will Toby Booth still be there when the new season starts?

That I am not convinced of Tiger. I know Bath have been interested in acquiring Booth's services. The thought did cross my mind when Smith was announced that this could just be a bit of a handover period for the final few weeks of this season.
