Recognition for posts
Would there be some way of implementing something like on facebook where you can 'like' a post. Feel it could help highlight posts and bring recognition to good well thought out posts. Where someone doesn't have anything to add rather than add a standard comment on 'good point' it would also help reduce the number of posts so the posts actually made are more often more relevant and don't have to look through some posts which don't add to the discussion.

Think they have a 'points' system, but it's annoying and difficult to police if people start misusing it.

There is a 'points' and a 'reputation' (including a "thanks" button) system that we have left turned off. IMO the old BBC "stars" rating system didn't work particularly well.

Yeah, the stars were a waste of time, you found someone write a pefectly good article and recieve 10 five stars and then two numpties would tick 1 star.
Totally out of context and often used as a wUM tool.
