If I were Irish or French I would have wanted a roof...

Yeah, to think a few weeks ago they were praising roofs. Talk about hypocrites.

Fly you can't have it both ways. Either get a roof over your heads or have more games cancelled due to snow.

Morg, but if we got a roof we'd have yearly fights with the rest of you about when we get to have it open or closed. That's no solution.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, I say. England and Italy played in snow - now there's real rugby men

That's what you call modernist class, Ruby. It won an International award an' all. And the neighbours can still grow their daffodils. Them south Dubliners love their flowering gardens.

Pontylad
Was that Pridd RFC? I remember hearing about a club who had their cables dug up and taken, mustve taken a few hours to do for scrap metal costs of like 30-40 squid.
Wasn't there a rumour that a local company was paying them to do it, the repair costs are near new instillation costs aren't they?
Just rumours I heard, noone seemed to know exactly who was the victim.

Well get down there and sort the turf out then

According to the BBC Wales weather forecaster just now, the roof will be open tomorrow, so the French shouldn't be moaning.

After watching those poor buggers in the crowd desperately trying to shield their eye's during the Italy game then if I was going I would certainly want the roof closed, my guess is they saw sod all for most of that game.
Being english is it wrong of me to say that I think it should be the home team's choice on if to have it open or closed, as long as the decision is made in advance (say before the teams are announced)? Only exception would be if the they chose to have it open and there was a chance the game could be called off then maybe the referee could intervene in the matter.

Having to shield your eyes from the sun is such a rare occurrance in Cardiff that it's not really an issue.
Personally I dont care if the roof is closed or not and have no problem with both teams having to agree.

Re: Oh, good! The roof again :(
My understanding is that if both teams agree to have it closed then it's closed. If one wants it open then it's open. Rugby is an outdooe sport after all. I think that's the fairest way of doing it. What's the problem?
The closed roof did give an absolutely incredible atmosphere to the HC final last season though. What a stadium. What a match.

In the 6 Nations Wales are not allowed to use the roof as an advantage, however in november Wales have control over whether it is open or closed.
